I would like to see them prohibited from publishing or releasing free or not free, any new software that is internet enabled such as a browser, etc for up 8 to 10 years
Ummm, wasn't the whole MS-crushed-Netscape part of the case dismissed? I seem to recall something about that from awhile ago. So, even if the punishment was realistic, it wouldn't happen because it is a consquence for something that MS did "not" do. Or so they say.

I know what you mean.
Jurassic Park III was the best movie i've ever seen, especially since it came from the vast imaginations of Hollywood scriptwriters instead of Micheal Crighton.

IANAL, but don't you technically pay for the liscence to use the software, not necessarily the software itself. Therefore use of the software is restricted by the EULA because that's what you paid for, and you don't own the software. On the other hand, like you said, you don't get to see the EULA before purchase............

Hey cool.....
I live in Peterborough too, and always thought the archetecture at Trent University was pretty cool (which, BTW, is why they chose it as the location to film Urban Legends II)
maybe I should go see that sometime...
My two cents:
No matter how many people sign that petition, George Lucas will ignore it. He has already demonstrated his ability to be a complete crackpot. IE: Jar Jar, and (correct me if I'm wrong), but didn't he call DVD a fad and refuse to publish Star Wars on DVD?
So I guess we'll be seeing Attack Of The Clones make an attempt to clean up after the Phantom Menace and Jar Jar Binks.
BTW, does anyone know where to get the Jar Jar-less version?
I agree.
I have the Dilbert 2001 desk calendar. Unfortunately I have already read every single one during periods of boredom, so it kind of detracts from the daily novelty of reading a new dilbert comic (which is why I subscribed to the Daily Dilbert Newsletter)
Konqueror has an option in which you can utilize the mozilla engine instead of KHTML (the Konqueror default) using a widget called "kmozilla" (I think this is similar to the GtkMozilla widget in that you can embed it in any KDE app).
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to communicate well with Konqueror (as far as I have been able to tell, though this may be due to the fact that I am using a more recent mozilla). Anyway, i am using galeon at the moment because I don't particulerly like the speed of KHTML, and I like the tabs and "smart search toolbar" or whatever in galeon. I just wish that the GNOME interface looked good with my KDE desktop (though the fonts and colours match, due to KDE's nice "apply fonts and colours to non-KDE apps" option).

Why RedHat continues to support "gcc-2.96x" is beyond me.
Historically, RedHat seems to wait for major version number increments to break backwords-compatibility of "big" or important things like gcc. I'd bet that they're going to wait until 8.0 to make gcc-3.0 the default compiler.
Yes, our population is small, however that is irrelevant to your argument. You say people live far away from each other in cities, based on our population. Perhaps you should look at population density.... granted our national denisty is something like 3 people/square km (note this is an average), however in large urban centres (eg Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa) the population density would be comparable to similarly-sized US cities (I don't have the exact figures)
I haven't had time to look into this, but there is a gnu compiler which allows compilation of Java into native code for your platform (thus eliminating the need for a VM and the performance drop).
It also (I believe) allows for the use of byte-code classes along with the compiled code, if you wish.
It is called gcj (GNU Compiler for Java) -- see http://sources.redhat.com/java/ for more info
I don't think a modern-day safeway would use .Net, or even Windows

It took me a bit to figure out: click View -> View Mode -> kmozilla kinda stupid place to put it, if you ask me
