Reminds me of when they ported ColdFusion to Java because a) they wanted to reach more platforms and b) J2EE was such a pain in the ass.
The only time I've seen that wording was in German.

Not exactly new. Vodo has been around for a long time and several productions have released their movies and episodes their, financing the projects through donations instead of up-front money.
