    The problem with J.J.A.
      1) He's inept.

      2) He's using the writers from Cloverfield, Lost, Alias...Hollywood hates real writers. They think. Writers who make good in Hollywood today must Obey.

My doughter started with "Mario Kart" at age 4. She and hser siblings would network 'em...we have 4 DS', but then she progressed to "Zelda" and "Mario Party" on the game cube--she realized that those letters meant something, that the sentences gave her info to make the game more fun! She was reading at the first grade in Kindergarde, she's in 1st. grade now, but she reads at the 3rd. grade level. (The school-staff loves her!)

Purhaps you should get her a mix of thos age-specific games, and a few games where she'd HAVE to read--most games are pretty intuative anyway. It's not like the thing is plugged directly into her brain--No overload possible, it shouldn't hurt her. Besides, girls develop on different tracks than boys--they gain communication skills before boys do.

Interesting...Today, my Son and I were in BestBuy--just passing through--and I stopped to check out the Notebook computers. We were looking at an HP when one of the "Blue Shirts" walked up and began her speel. I asked about the new Intel CPU (The Duo Pro)...she had no idea what I was talking about and began to move off. My Son--all of 9 yrs. old--noticed the new Windows GUI, remarked on how he didn't like it and I told him I could Load XP on the unit if he wanted...whereupon the "Blue Shirt" said the following:

"Oh, you can't do that," She looked me dead in the eye, "There are 'Driver Problems' with the new systems and XP."

I took a quick look at the system info tab, and didn't see any new, cutting-edge hardware,

    "Why?" I asked.

"I don't know," Still looking me right in the eye,"...but there have been problems with XP."

"What about Linux?" I said, slyly.

"I don't know about Linux." Then she scooted away. ...Now why would she say that? Why would she care what O.S. I put on a unit I bought?

"Just think - in any field you can think of - tennis, school, etc. - some people are 'A' players and consistantly outperform others - other people are 'B' and 'C' players, that really don't stack up to the 'A' players.

A company filled with 'A' players will win every time.

Google's just in a very enviable position that so many top people want to work directly for them -- as opposed to starting their own thing in the hopes of getting bought by Google later."

This statement is valid...ONLY if HR Dept. is staffed with truly rational, objective and intellegent persons. I've been in the market 20 years--and I've had the most biased interviewers you'd ever want to meet.

Quote from compuware, 2002: "...I don't know why 'you people even bother; if we need janitors or grounds-keepers, I'll call you."

Yeah, Sure, 'A' players--these are the people who excluded you in High School--these are the people who run the Enrons, WorldComs and CitiBanks of the world. The best of the best--My tuckus!

I'm black, and I've given up on the U.S. I.T. market--I still love the hardware and software (especially O.S.'s--MS Win, Linux, Plan9, Menuet) but I'll freelance for Canada, and anyone else before I'll talk to an I.T. Company in the U.S.

Man, You guys have missed something. This youngman hasn't discovered anything new. The Telecom routes (POTS, Microwave, FibOptic, SAT) have been available for years...just because something gets recognized by Collage-Types doesn't give it relevance...OBL and most criminals of this world succeed because most people live in a fantasy world where "People like us" know everything and the "Those other people" (i.e, ignorant, poor, darker-skinned) don't have the brains to affect this great country.

Well, maybe the U.S. is evil...and that evil manifest in our banality.

I find Mandrake for ease, Red Hat for usibility and SuSe for the option is a good mix. Mandrake and RH both work with Chinese. (Manderin, I'm sure, as it is the most popular.) The Chipset should work, but I'm from the States, Man. I've seen X work with Hangul (Korean), but I won't lie... here in Detroit we don't get much call from the polyglot crowd.
