Sony seems to have stopped making all Direct View sets over 34" (16x9) or 36" (4x3). As I remember the reason has to do with the earths magnetic field.
As someone who used usenet long before slashdot was even an idea, death is too good for him. Maybe a fight to the death with usenet's other bane, head of the UFF, John Grubor
Some people no matter the pay don't want to be janitors and instead want to be doctors. I could be happy all day long fixing things (electrical, mechanical, software) and honestly, it does not pay well to be able to repair stuff in this society. However nothing makes me happier then to have fixed a broken thing. That feeling of contentment and accomplishment is worth more then the pay to me. Remember that in a community you put in what you are able and take what you need.
It's just fuckwit moderators (I mod fairly IMO). One of my recent comments was hit with an "overated" as it's first mod, WTF, At worst I might have been offtopic a bit, but over-fucking-rated.
I don't like it one bit, especially for servers. In fact I am all for bringing back jumpered hardware settings. That way I can make sure no stupid DMA/IRQ conflicts happen since windows sucks at managing them.
Put the CEO's neck on the line. Certianly they wouldn't be willing to go to court unless they had a good enough reason to risk it. Personally I think having the corporate charter revoked and their assets disolved would be a more fitting punishment for trying to play legal games.
Just a hint if you ever play it again. You can bring the 2 sentry guns from the 1st control room down to the jail and toss them in from above. This gets you 5 guns for the trial. I also liked to run around holding one as they auto fire and target, saves ammo and acts as a enemy detector. Another tactic that helps is grab some doors, desks, cabinets, barrels, anything not nailed down and completly jumble over the upper two entrances, then they have trouble shooting/grenading from above. Sadly if you block off the lower 2 (from the outside) magically your stuff vanishes (unless you keep it inside and away from the area the scripted event cleans up).
I seem to remember SONY still being delusional about FFVII only being on the PSX even though the PC version had come out. They made a HUGE deal about FFVII "Only available on Playstation", well I think they also said that about crap games, but they hype it as much as anyone else IMO. YMMV.

You may desire to live in such a society, and even see growing a plant as a natural right, but it really is not currently a right."

Max Payne was around long before the video game was made. Check out the history of it's creators. Not saying that you are at all wrong, you are correct, I'm just saying a video games release date has little to do with the formation of it's concept.
Hung clothes dry faster on a sunny afternoon and use less electricity/gas then a modern dryer. Problem is not every day is a sunny day. A smart person uses both methods to his/her advantage.
If you have a VWabbit and it's diesel make sure you put a 5 speed tranny in it, those 4 speed ones just dont work for shit with the diesel motors used by VW.
Yah, the US is sooooo fucking advanced in the whole diesel tech field that the US army still has to use 5 ton dumptrucks from the 1950's . I'm serious, whatever group we have over in Iraq right now, I heard them on the radio saying the oldest truck they have is from the mid 50's and the most recent one was made in the early 70's.
Trucking companies dont give a shit about advancing technologies, they just care about how little repairs they can get away with and still not have too many horrific accidents.
You got some mighty fine rose colored glasses on about this whole magical diesel tech research that we supposedly are leading the world on.
Add to your list that the crap diesel we see for sale today is 25% to 50% more expensive then the fuel used by say a Prius. If it has to be more cleaned and refined I suspect they will decide to charge more for it. Unless some kind of government subsidy comes into play, and even then they will certainaly chage as much as they can for it.
IMO from experiance with both technologies (about 4 times as long with diesels) they both have a place and a use. But to say (this early) that one technologu is clearly superior to another in every use is bunk. We dont yet have decent long term environmental impact info on hybrids in the US, if we maybe talked to Japan about it that might get us some.
A problem with diesel is it's 25-50% more in cost then the gas needed for that same rough milelage in a Prius. There are also pollution issues if you care about that.
Get whatever one you want, but before you say a diesel is better then a hybrid you need to take off the blindfold of ignorance.
There is no stigma in the US over diesel I can at any time from several manufacturers get my choice of diesel powered cars, trucks and other vehicles here in the US. I have been able to get them for the last 20 years (as long as I have cared to drive) and see no indication of production stopping.
And it's no longer available from SONY. I hear this is because of problems with the earths magnetic field.

We hanker for magnetic tape as in LTO Ultrium 2.

It can and does work on the community (town, village) level. I have not seen it sucessfully on the city wide level, but I am willing to be wrong.

Yes, but I think you will find her quite violently opposed to the process. It's your life and I can't stop you....
I thought battlecruiser survived at least that long.

I believe another author also wrote about these, a book called "Mechasm" by John T. Sladek (now published under the title "The Reporductive System"
Wouldnt they be iRobots?
Yah, looks like us sane people (who are not on some strange crusade/jihad) need to stick together.

The flipside of this is take a normal burnable object, soak it in diesel, it burns much more happily and is harder to put out.
I think your problem is that you are cracking them up to be more then I have ever heard any auto maker claim.
It almost smells like a strawman, set up hybrids as horrible.
