look, they offer it for free elsewhere. registration there is merly a suggestion. if they are prepared to defend their copyright, they must make an effort. this is proven in a court of law. bitch at google too if you are so adament.... please send me their response so I can rub it in your face.
in addition, do not forget about systemimager. It provides an easy way to install configured images across the network (using PXE or CD or floppy). Very handy... I have used it to load 20 servers at a time, and the tool allows for post-install configure scripts, so that individual boxes can be configured differently during the load. Very handy for large installs, and I think the sun tools (although more mature) are less configurable.
funny thing about assumptions... outrageous assumptions are as legitimate as reasonable ones. as long as the assumption is clearly stated, there is no foul. and assuming that the grandparent is not a moron, he makes perfect sense:)
no... use make to append each rc script to a file. this file now has the order of start up scripts. to shut down, run make again, and reverse sort the file.
And if i were in the middle of performing a surgury, when said telemarkateers started calling me, would not they be "interfering with people's livelihoods[ and or lives]".
and by them refusing to recognize the "do-not-call" list, they are commiting a crime. they will suffer in their own time.
or rather a new stability where everyone is happier. telemarketers don't have to put up with crap because they lost their jobs; instead they go save the rain forests. and i don't have to get 3 calls per day from the same company trying to sell me the same thing every day that I am home telecommuting. (my guess is that they call on the days I'm not there, too, but I can't hear the phone on those days...).
testing lexis-nexus once would have ben enough... maybe twice. but lamo used the service for 3000 queries. hardly _just_ for proof that he was in the system.
A teachers job is not to teach...the teacher should teach students
You said almost exactly what I was trying to say, but tried to make it an argument against what I said. Strange.
You do understand that degrees are a requirement in this information age right?
No I do not. I have been doing fine without it. The key is that you must teach yourself. I just managed to learn this without wasting my time, and the schools time, and lots of money.
it loads erally quick. And I'm loving the connectors... finally I don't need visio anymore!

dman it... beer out the nose again.
systemimager.org does this as a package. There is a bit of learning curve... but that curve is shorter than getting 400 machines loaded by hand :)

Single proccessor systems are the most common, and always will be.
Come back here in ten years... we'll see if you have foot in mouth disease. I suspect you do.
at least we have something to do in the booths this year... besides show up the american competition.

you should see it when i'm happy.
nah... you are both wrong. my guess is 2-3
then smoke it.
thank dog that stuff doesn't just automaticly install itself into linux.
oh man, that half cup crap burns me. I've nearly stopped drinking coffe at the office, since assholes don't fill it when they nearly kill it.
LISTEN UP: if you drink all but the last few swallows of coffee... make a new freaking POT!
-- sorry... but this has been a rant of mine for nearly 3 years.
it would only slightly speed things up. Services like DHCP, NFS, kudzu take most of ther time waiting for IO that isn't disk dependent.

just a little nit-pik here:
I can have messages flash on the back telling that moron driving 30 in a 50 what I think of them
if he is going slow, and is behind you... you might want to display "sorry, I'm driving 30 in a 50 zone... I'm a moron, please pass me".
and they have called all of us, so should we all cal them.

nah... they had to make the voice recording to tell people to f*** off. that probably cost, like, $200.

that is a great idea. we'll call it slashdot.
at the soul discretion of SkyOs Inc. and its contributors
heh.. they've got some soul! and the passion to use it.
minus the 300,000$ worth of lexis-nexus searches. minus the damage to the NYT image for being publicly embarrased by the security compromise.
