Sure we won't be populating planets, but we may very well be setting up many a space station in orbit of earth, and bases on the Moon, and sending manned missions to Mars, etc.

So has anyone gotten Debian installed on a PPC? I know it can be done, I've found sites of people who have done it, just no real current instructions on doing it. I'm loving Debian on my server machine at home, and I'd like to try it out on this new Powerbook G3 400mhz;)

I'm told you can get Debian installed on PPC, just no t exactly sure how. I believe the only way to do it is from an existing installed linuxppc/redhat. Problem is the only guide I could really find searching around was written sometime last year...
Its not illegal because of anything to do with mp3, its illegal because of it being a recording device with no copyright protection or something like that, i dont really know much about this legal stuff:)
It would also be extremely illegal, i believe. One of the RIAA's main complaints in their suit against diamond when the Rio was first released was that it could be used to record, which of course, was wrong, it cant record. But anyways, such a device would be very illegal, I believe:)
Yeah, its not realy all that revolutionary, considering also that this happened all the time on MUDs years ago:) The issue, thought, isn't so much that this is revolutionary, but that its getting more mainstream.
You all keep saying this issue has been beaten into the gound and there's nothing still to be said and that no one cares. I think the large number of comments that have more to say and agree with Katz prove you wrong. If you aren't interested in this topic, don't read it, and PLEASE don't post annoying comments telling Katz to stop, you're just making things worse, and making it harder for those of us who ARE interested in this to read it.
You should check out 8.6, which is about to be released. Apple's doing a good job of making MacOS 8 pretty damn good, actually, even with all the shitty legacy code lying around. I love Macs but I agree that MacOS is pretty bad, in terms of the lowlevel stuff.. But 8.5 and 8.6 are really quite good.
And you trust your fellow fucked in the head Americans MORE than the government? Personally I'm SCARED to own a gun and I'm scared that other people around me could legally own guns that they might use on me or friends and loved ones of mine just because they had a fucking bad hairday.
$4000, actually

Isn't the rio 12 hours on a single AAA? :P
They say there is a 64mb model too, but don't give a price.
