The version of the story that I heard was that some British company was building a high speed train and wanted to test it against bird strikes. They borrowed a chicken cannon from an American aerospace company (the cannon being a standard item for testing aircraft canopies) and were horrified to see how much damage the train was taking. The Brits sent the footage to the Americans for review and the Americans simply responded: "Gentlemen, thaw your chickens."
They tested this pretty thoroughly on Mythbusters. The final result being that frozen chickens get much better penetration then thawed ones.
If you buy it through Steam, you don't get stuck with SecuROM. You do have to deal with Steam's internal DRM though.
If you want to play without DRM, your only choice is to pirate it.
if they go bankrupt tomorrow and can't PAY anyone to develop said patch, then what?
Just use the patch the pirates have been using since before the game was officially released.
Except that Square-Enix has already shifted their focus back to Nintendo.
Dragon Quest IX is DS exclusive. Dragon Quest is THE big gaming franchise in Japan, I'm told it sells bigger numbers than the top 3 franchises in the US combined.

Reading through nearly all of the ranting and raving about this new standard simply proves the need for it, IMHO.
Of course, standards don't mean anything unless people follow them.

Your lack of scritches annoys her.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings and It's a Wonderful World (a Kingdom Hearts spinoff) are also both DS exclusive. Being spinoff titles and not major releases, this isn't as big of news, but it's still pointing at the end of SE's relationship with Sony. http://ds.ign.com/articles/732/732509p1.html http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3154010
Does anyone else feel uneasy with the work "hack" being used in relation to the word "penis"...?
As long as the word "off" isn't in there, I'm fine.
Is it going to try to read it off like words or will it spell everything out? And what about code comments?

Then why the hell are you still reading/posting on it?
