It's all for naught anyways. Our population and technology has out paced job growth. We need to realize there simply wont be any more jobs for the majority of the population as time marches forward.

    that's demonstrably and patently false.

it's essentially the same argument used against immigration of "they'll take our jobs".
(ie, there's a static number of jobs, and more population means more unemployment/underemployment)

It's never been true, and history, whether 300 years ago (arguments against further colonists coming over) or 50 years ago ("the baby boomers will skyrocket unemplyment"), has always disproven the notion.

In one hop? No, not yet. But then neither did this toy.
But the sailplane record is 1407 miles, which by definition is a single hop.

Sailplanes are limited by pilot endurance, and available daylight hours (because thermals are created by sunlight heating the ground). in fact, you could say sailplanes are the original solar powered aircraft.

that's the point: it isnt really state of the art. sailplanes have already gone distances of 1400 miles, and they use no power whatsoever.
this thing is more like a fancy sailplane with its own onboard motor (which is actually common on more expensive sailplanes flown in areas without tows or winches to get airborne). having solar cells means less thermal riding reliance than a sailplane, but the extreme low speed frequent stops, and low low mileage overall make this extremely unimpressive, even by "state of the art 30 years ago" standards. this plane is pure PR and spin.

A "Man" stands up and admits the truth, has integrity and character, and takes his licks. A man does not lie about lying...none of this "i accidentally misspoke" crap when referring to a blatant lie. No matter how much you may disagree with him, a Man is easy to work and deal with.

But a slimeball will lie about lying, will stab you in the back at the first opportunity, try to get away with anything and never take responsibility for anything, never deal fairly and squarely about anything....your basic politician/power broker.

Others exist, but Google is the proverbial 800 lb gorilla, compared everyone elses 20 lb lemurs. They become a defacto gatekeeper and while other routes may still exist, when google decides to not show something it effectively ceases to exist. This gives them a lot of power, leaves the wider internet using masses dependent on google's good intentions and desires as to what they will show. IMO google should adopt a totally neutral stance as that would be the most in line with the "do no evil" motto.

read the opinions first before you bash. these are highly intelligent people at the peak of their profession and these are complicated cases legally. and dissenting doesnt always mean "in opposition". sometimes judges dissent because agree with the majority, but feel they didnt go far enough, or do it for the wrong reasons. point is: read the opinions first rather than assume you know why they voted how they did.

specifically the DOMA decision revolves around States Rights, not around gay marriage itself, and is actually a big win for States Rights supporters. people are saying it legalizes gay marriage, but it does nothing of the sort. it simply says that the federal government cant appropriate for itself the power to define marriage as it has always been something held at the state level, and the fed did not show any proper reasoning for why it should be taken away and decided at hte fed level.

the effect is that DOMA is struck down, but the reasoning why is just as important as the result.
