FFS. Inm sorry but this is just BS, acheiving 8 characters a second assuming you are typing words and not just pressing a key is practically impossible. Sure you may be able to acheive this rate on a few selected words that you know very well and have a good mental map for in your mind. However, a substained typing rate of 170wpm let alone 200 is just not doable.

Assuming we take you upper quoted figure 170/60=2.8(let's round that down to 2.5 words per second)Now lets say that you have an average 4 letter word length, that's 10 characters a second. Bottom line, you are making this up.

I'm not the least bit suprised Tucows did what they did. There they were providing a service to the open source community, and this is the thanks they get

I have a theory that the people that partake in these flame wars, fall into one of the following categories

    1. Script kiddies and other pond life that feel they have to attach themselves to something they perceive as being subversive. Once they attach themselves to linux, bsd or whatever, they then flame anyone who has a different opinion. The truth is the people do not have any opinions, they flame, simply to give the impression of them having a clue

    2. Licence zealots who doggedly maintain that if code is not released under-their-favourite-licence(tm) then they have the right to act like children hoping that someone will appease them.

    3. People with way too much time on their hands

Disagreeing with people is fine, however some people in the open source community need to learn to agree to disagree.
