I don't know about the reporter, but the senator is definitely a democrat. He represents southwestern VA, which is one of the most economically underdeveloped regions of the state.
Man, this was LONG before compact flash modules could be had in Office Max, and the ram was locked up. This was 1994. I was working 2 jobs to help pay for college the next year, and everyone there was a complete moron. One of the managers failed to communicate to the head manager my need to work certain days for the other job, and so they started docking my hours to punish me for not showing up. I was just so annoyed that I compensated myself in other ways. I never had to buy an ink cartridge throughout my whole college career:-)
yeah that sucked it hard.... until you got the NES max! Thats the one with the sliding disc thing for the thumbpad. you could turn that upside down and really crank it.
Man, those were the days. That was the very first computer game i played to excess. The 99 provided me with a path to geekdom that i never left. I wore out many a keyboard and cartridge slot on those puppies.
If you want/need color, i would recommend the Lexmark Optra 40/45 (or whatever the newer one is). It's a color postscript inkjet, comes with 4MB of ram (and has a simm slot for up to 32 more MB), and is pretty fast. I got the Optra 40 from onsale last summer for $230, and i love it. They even provide (from their site) linux/unix utilities to perform functions (like changing cartridges, cleaning heads, alignment, etc). Plus on the warranty registration card there was a box to check if you want the technical reference manual... and they send you one for free! You can press one of the buttons and it prints out a page with the current ink level in each tank, plus all the configuration information. I have been quite happy with it, except for the fact the the black ink smears, but they have supposedly fixed that. Cartridges are everywhere, and because its PS its easier than H to set up.

When I worked for Office Max in high school I always made it my personal habit to steal ink cartridges whenever possible.
I actually saw one of those last week in Herndon, VA. Parked at an office building on Sunrise Valley if anyone lives near there.
until it rings
The kids love this one.
uh... endometriosis is not a digestive problem (hopefully).
