Could you kindly show your setup? i did it with my own system with a creative audigy 2 and onkyo system on 20 ft. of cable, and the interference was bad.
never understood the argument that God "tests" people. If He is all-knowing and all-seeing, He already knows what you're going to do, so what is the point in actually doing the test?
Simple. Man has free will. God cannot take that from you.
My company, a BIG Wall Street firm, is currently testing LINUX to replace Solaris as our server OS.
This is a good thing. My company gets to save few bucks (they need to after paying all those fines last quarter), and we developers will get to keep a UNIX like environment.
Hmmm... Solaris OS software itself is free, so no savings there. I think you mean save bucks buying intel hardware rather than sun hardware and support.
As another poster mentioned, sunfreeware website to get the GNU apps and tools. As for edits to change the ip address. There is no/etc/ifconfig, but/sbin/ifconfig to change it temporarily. it's not/etc/nsswitch, but/etc/nsswitch.conf. Actually, to change the ip, you just change/etc/hosts,/etc/hostname.interface example,/etc/hostname.hme0. and that's it.
it's not really dumb to change the ip, it's just different.
steps:
1. create a demo product/services without really
making one. it will then inflates your stocks and you can get financing from investors too!
2. sell your stocks, be a millionaire and let thm in a loop when your product/services will come out.
3. repeat!
The reason for the spam is because of
the prepaid internet access common in
asia!
You buy those prepaid cards, in malls,
and you are totally anonymous if you
buy in cash.
As discussed here, the spam therefore
come from asia, but the content of the
spam is from the US.
Well now... how can we read the news
if it's slashdotted already?
Almost all the sites that I have
visited a couple of months till now
that is linked to slashdot is
slashdotted to death! cnet, nytimes,
zdnet and a few sites seems to be
immune though...
I could see that Miguel is a visionary.
visionaries are *always* scorned by alot
of people who don't understand their
ideas until you give people a few years
to assimilate the ideas.. then they
understand.

"Miguel de Icaza, Mono founder and Ximian chief technology officer, said in an interview that he believes Microsoft's technology is worth emulating."
The keyword here is *emulating* the.NET
strategy. Miquel wants to have an alternative
to this.NET technology. not embracing Microsoft
as a corporation, but the.NET technology.
Hey, even R. Stallman another visionary, endorsed mono! the alternative to.NET.
and another quote here:
"the move could increase the importance and popularity of the.Net strategy while diminishing Microsoft's control over the software itself. With.Net, Microsoft plans to sell its services such as address books or e-commerce, as well as the software plumbing that powers those services over the Internet."
You want MS to control the way you want to use
the internet? and be potentially a big brother
to everyone? you want your freedom and privacy away?
so instead of bitching about what Miguel has done,
he tried something about it... an alternative to.NET.
The service sucks right now in Toronto.
I get a disconnection every 15minutes
from a 56K dialup. But what can i say?
it's free so I can't complain.
And their disgusting ads which sits on
the top of ur screen, u can't minimize
or remove it, takes approx. 30% of your
system resources on a winblows9x/me.
That's why even if you have 1Gb of ram
or 1Ghz of cpu, in ur peecee, you'll
still crash your system by opening say,
6 Internet explorers.
Lame software. u say upgrade to Linux
or windows NT/2K? it's not avail. for
that OS! tsk... tsk... lame just lame.
With their windows2000 server and.NET technology, MS will try to take over the
Internet as you know it.
With almost 80%+ legions of drones using
the MS OS all over the world, It's not far fetched. Think of it if MS wins in this.NET technology... what will happen?
And they opt to go to a homeless shelter. That's their choice and everyone is sensationalizing it?
If what they say is true that they can't find a job, the internet economy is down, etc. Then why don't you reinvent yourself by finding a non-technical work or going to other states like phoenix.
Looks like it...
Thanks,
steadph
new name of the company is: sextel!!! :)

I thought that it was "RMS does India" ????
like Debbie does dallas.
just thinking about it.... like eyyywww..

Ahh, I feel like a teenager already!

Single? :)
Everything you have said is correct. I'm
a solaris and linux sysadmin and I know
what you are talking about.
The only thing that keeps sun profitable is
the enterprise market where they have a strong
prescence.
Keep that away and they are dead. Hope sun
realizes this and they better innovate and
keep the ante on technology... be it hardware
or software.

Can the editors at least put a mirror web page?
