    No. The energy for the laser probably comes from a nuke plant on board ship. In most cases, there is excess energy, so why not power up a few lasers? It's why the navy is moving from steam cats to magnetic ones.

    Your nerdly corner case concerns are not the primary factor in their decisions. At all.

    The 'oversights' of the hardware hasn't in any meaningful way slowed adoption of this console. I would argue that the modest hardware of the device helped keep costs low and family friendly in the beginning.

    Try googling 'unclean hands'. This would be a civil matter, not a criminal one. Since there is no physical injury, I'm not sure that laws prohibiting booby traps are relevant. While it isn't an ironclad defense, it can be raised and be successful, particularly if equitable defenses are allowed (rules vary by state.)

    One trick is that the increased supply of labor has been outside of the US.

    In addition, your point 'a' is not the only possible outcome. As you no doubt know, if profitability increases, in a free-ish market, there will be more competition, hence keeping profitability down.

    Given the in depth answer you gave, I should probably give a similar reply, but I can't be bothered, as the overall theme is correct, even if a few details are weak..
