Regardless of what we do, the Earth, in about 400 billion years will not rotate at all. This is due to our relationship with what we refer to as our moon, which is actually celestially speaking, the second of the pair in our binary planet system. Eventually, one side of the Earth will be constantly facing the moon.

Actually it doesn't mean that earth will not rotate. It means that a day equals month. If it would mean earth wouldn't rotate that would mean moon would have stopped moving around earth and by simply physics wouldn't be around earth anymore, it would be either inside earth. Or moved away from earth.

You could want to realize some practicalities in going to wind or solar power.
First you need to build equivalent amount of coal based electricity production. Why?
Well what happens when its not windy, or when you don't get solarpower at the time of peak comsumption? Uhh. Only option for that is burn coal, or gas, since those could ramp up in reasonable time. From practical point of view. Solar and windpower is usefull for those who need to use lot of electricity only on windy or sunnydays, and other time use far less. Nuclear power is what is needed for BASELINE powerproduction. Fossile fuels are still needed but only for managing the peaks.

Its pretty much possible to live a rich live in economy where, use of fossile fuels is near zero.
Think are you poor if you couldn't drive suv, but something with minimal green house effect.
Another thing is that would you be poor, if you used, railroad tracks more, and less roads?
Would you be poor if you used more nuclear power and less coal?
All goverment has to do is make it MORE profitable for businesses to change their operation taking account of enviroment by moneytary dis-incentives. Like tax on coal, and gas while allowing nuclear power plants, and making easier to improve railroad transportation network.
Finland is not a poor country our population density is worse than united states, our per capita CO2 production is less than half of yours. Our health care system, and school systems are superiour.
Why I mentioned Finland, instead of rest of europe is that, Americans always speak about population density as excuse for CO2 production. While central europe is having denser population, its lifestyle, not doing normal. We have more free time, less stress better health care, less toys, but still overall a better life than you poor americans who cannot think but $$$ [Exception in both sides of atlantic exist].
