    Sounds great. In fact why not put up solar panels and power the whole city, and while we are at it I'm sure there are lots of other stuff we could do too!

    Look people, fact of the matter is that our government has been broke for a LONG time. Treasury is PRINTING money to bail out citibank.

    It's over. Everything that's expensive and requires BIG infrastructure is going nowhere.

    It may not seem like it now, but next year is going to suck. The dollar is going to drop like a rock and the rest of the world is going to stop lending cash to the U.S. government (at all levels). Once that hits the fan the true cost of what we THINK we have will be facing us.

    Dreams of high-tech Eco powered society are done. Nobody will be able to afford it.

    On the plus side big pollution will probably go down as well as we will not be able to afford that either.

    You are playing word games. My point is that is it OK with you if you release your code via BSD and then somebody takes your code, adds a couple of lines to improve a feature (or fix a bug) then releases the code with both the GPL and BSD licenses in it?

    The resulting fact is that YOU cannot take the bug fix and integrate it into your software

    yes, they can't take your code but they CAN include your code in an improved version of your software (even if it's only one or two lines) and release it under the GPL.

    The result? You can't use their changes with your code in a BSD only licensed version.

    Yup..you are FREE to use any license you want. That's YOUR choice. But what if somebody takes your BSD licensed code and puts it under the GPL (they CAN do that your license allows it)?

    Still want to go with the BSD license?

    One of the things that really scare IT shops about Remote access is the fact that they really can't control the systems at home (if they are not systems given to take home).

    Since computers are pretty fast and Virtual Machine technology is pretty far along, try a custom VM image using Vmware, parallels, virtualbox, etc and let users do work within that environment on their home systems.

    With GW not around to kick reporters are going to have to start doing research instead of getting on the GW/Republican bash bandwagon.

    Sure, the Republicans can still filibuster but how many stories can you REALLY write about that?

    8 years of GW made for easy reporting. All you had to do was put your finger in the wind and report about Guantanamo, the "War", Civil liberties abuse, etc. It's not hard to eat when you are in front of the Buffet.

    Yea, I was thinking the same thing. This could be a problem for BSD developers. If they want to create a BSD licensed driver and Creative has software patents on stuff in the released code they could sue those developers.

    BE very careful. Does Creative have patents covered in the GPLv2 code? They could very well sue anybody implementing a non GPLv2 version of their patented software with a BSD license.

    Blaming Bush will only work for so long. If Voters took account of who was responsible for problems they would of tossed out Dems and Republicans in congress since the Democratic congress does hold some responsibility for their actions over the last two years, but the fact of the matter is that whomever is in the White house defines which party is responsible regardless of who is REALLY responsible.

    Complaining about trains not running on time and management is FAR different than making the trains run on time and BEING management.

    With an Obama win my main concern is that the left leaning organizations that were so rabid and dogged in their pursuit of watching GW don't drop the ball and all of sudden become blind to an Obama administration.

    I'd recommend everybody make a list of the things (violations of civil liberties) that GW enacted and re-visit them 2 years down the road to see if Obama has ordered them stopped or is continuing them.

    I don't. I'm convinced at some point during the next war everybody (govs of countries) will say "Screw you" and default on all the loans they took out.

    Which is why I say that in the U.S. we should be taking out ALL the loans we can from anybody overseas that will give em. Then build large physical items that can't be repo'd. Take out a HUGE loan to fix all the roads and bridges, buy that concrete wall across the border, get a couple dozen aircraft carriers. What are the Chinese going to do when we don't pay? Come and get it sucker!

    Of course I'm joking....kinda...
