    who says they expected more? Only samsung says.

    Actually, Samsung says that Apple has quadrupled OLED orders. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2017/12/20/apple-to-quadruple-samsung-oled-panel-orders-for-2018-iphones/ And that Chinese phone makers didn't make the orders Samsung hoped for.

    Somehow Nikkei got these confused and everybody believes them because Apple s doooooomed.

    Just about everybody who wanted one has now bought one.

    And they are 'record breaking profit' because of the high markup.

    What does that say about the people who bought them? That they paid a lot extra for what they got.

    You are aware that iPhone sales are up while overall smartphone sales are down? Well, now you no longer have the excuse that you don't.

    Well, doesn't the NRA keep telling us that you need a good guy with a gun to stop the bad guys with guns? So obviously the NRA are the anti-gun-gun lobby.

    That from this year on, smartphones can't get any better? Why not a year ago or 2 and a half years ago? Or for that matter: do we all really need smartphones at all?(4 years ago also from WashPo)

    Or is the author just trying to explain why smartphone sales are slumping? That we have reached "peak smartphone" (that claim isn't new either)?

    Hey, there is some good news: 'The Trump slump': Remington files for bankruptcy as gun sales tumble - now that they are sure nobody is going to take their guns away, at least they don't buy new ones.

    Either it can't process the utf8 code or its crashing when it doesn't have the font installed. Either way, these were solved problems 30 years ago, never mind now.

    Can't handle UTF-8? Now we now were the Slashcode developers went!

  24. If there was enough demand to recycle all the steel and aluminum on earth, junkyards wouldn't be a thing.

    Junkyards exist because A) people want to directly recycle auto parts as they are, and B) because after that's been done they have to separate all the steel , aluminium and other materials before they can recycle them.
