    Even if we do see them, the question may be "So what? We were they ~40 years ago."
    I think that seeing China or India on the moon (or getting too close) would see things start to happen at NASA.. It would be seen as a vital part of national security to have an American precense on the moon.

    the file are on the iPod, they are just hidden a bit. Because some people find it easier to find their credit card, than finding things out for themselves, there is a market for products like iPodRip .. some are shareware, some are free, some more commercial .. some are even sold in nice shrink wrapped packaging ..

    the bar for computer ownership theese days, is pretty low :-)

    50L to go 500kM is 10kM to the liter. Or about 23MPG. Not good.

    Maybe the technology has room for improvement? Remember that this is the first generation of theese 'pills' and that they have been made in a university lab. If I could have one of theese 'pill machines' connected to the sunpanel on the roof and the windmill in the backyard, I could probably be producing all the energy I wanted to use in my future electric car!

    Getting the hydrogen is generally not that dificult, there are many ways to obtain it (sun, wind, waves). The problem is storage.

    And by the way, in Denmark, you can only drive about 555 km if you try to go as far as you can .. so, 50liters of theese pills would be sufficient ;-)

    a gallon of regular is $6.97 in Denmark .. that's the price for gas in most of Europe at the moment. Theese high gas prices will make people think about alternatives.

    Personel for deployment and operation probably not included.

    How many small boats or busses would that kind of money pay for?

    At this point, people wouldn't need to be told where the busses or boats to save them were situated. Hell, add a small field duster plane with a banner containing an appropriate message.

    Richest nation in the world indeed, because this mess is certainly rich!

    Maybe someone can explain to me, how it's possible to patent even such an elementary idea?
    There is this concept called software patents, that makes elementary ideas patentable. Luckily, the parliment recently rejected having the same concept here in the EU.

    What I can't understand though, is; How can Apple be in violation of a Patent, that hasn't been around for more than a couple of days? It's like accusing somebody of having driven too fast, after the speed limits have been lowered..

    Not really a laughable assertion .. A bit on the edge but then again, it is commonly "accepted" that Colon brought news of America back to Europe.
    Being laughable is not an indication of being American.. me, I am Danish and live in a city that was present, when the Vikings discovered America, around the year 900...
