I spend 3500-5000 km every year on my commuter bike. I want it to be as comfortable as possible. If it results in a full suspension frame, fancy hydraulic brakes (Brakeforce One in this case) and carbon parts here and there, so be it. I use a good lock, many parts are secured with pinhead skewers and the bike is insured as well.
oh boo fucking hoo you ride 4 mi to work and 4 mi to back. you are practically lance armstrong! i think you should get a bike made out of diamond and vibranium, because that's the only thing that could possibly approach your extra-ordinary achievement.
I'm surprised your full suspension frame can support you considering how big your head is.
So? Just the brakes on my commuter bicycle (not motorbike) cost about EUR400. It can be worth it just to steal it for parts.
lolwut? commuter bikes are supposed to be replaceable, because they get beat up so much. i understand a road bike costing that much, becasue they'll take as much money as you have.
my whole commuter bike cost $450 -> 300 EUR. it was super solid for 3 years until ironically in the spirit of this thread it was stolen (lock was clipped). pro tip - save money where it doesn't make much difference, and spend money where it makes a big difference. some free advice for you.
1) without stolen goods and prostitution CL would go out of business 2) no problem for me, my serial number is 12345. like the combination for my luggage lock!
nothing improves your concentration like an hour playing tetris. I can still hear the song in my head. for best results, play it on an original game boy.
C'mon man, you know what he meant. He's right in spirit if not technicality. However, I would point out that it was SJ who freed iPods from drm, not piracy.
what happens if the laser turns out to be successful and all sorts of crazy fusion starts happening? would shit explode? sucks to live in berkeley (for many reasons)!
the answer is no. your approach is a pain in the butt. you're arguing an extreme case where a despot fakes 80% of the vote where maybe he actually got 20%. This can be easily called out through polls - it would become clear that the people polls wildly diverged from the resutls, which cast them in doubt.
For regular thumbs on the scale, using tamper evident packaging usually does the trick. i know a lot about this because I worked the polls.
ftf? you must be from europe or something... nothing like this exists in US. First, when they want to fire you, they fire you. you get called into a conf room, fired, then escorted out. There is no "notice" to give you time to look for another job. second, if you're lucky they might give you some severance, usually in the case of a structured layoff program. but if they're just firing you for whatever random reason, then you're out on your ass.
in assassin's creed if you kill 3 civilians then the level ends. i think this is a fair approach. of course in GTA if you kill a civilian then you get his money and his car, although that's not a war crime so much as a regular crime. I don't play the CoD type games so I don't know how they address the issue.
What does the last link have to do with the submission?
1) if they're trying to sell to Nokia, then they'll be SOL if Nokia is struggling too much. 2) it's a slashdot "cloud" article, which seems to be slashdot's version of AllThingsD or something similar. To tell you the truth I kinda liked it. The layout and info is nice. I know I'm supposed to shake my fist and say "Garr! Dice Holdings!" but whatever.
all of what you say is true, but this "breakeven" milestone is a milestone nonetheless. for the reaction itself, more thermal energy is coming out than photon energy that went in. obv down the road you need to consider any losses in making the lasers run, and all the losses in turning the thermal energy into mechanical work / power generation.
But dude, don't be a downer! Let's take it one step at a time, kay?
bahaha bennifer is like 15 years ago. if anything today it's kimye, but that's even a year or two old now. but i think england is the king for trashy tabloids. page 6, anybody?

obv your cars get sent across the border to a shady nation for resale. you live in canada?

Once I was in a coffee shop and someone stole a bungee off my bike. How lame is that!
Dude, we're talking bicycles not motorbikes
Also, the registry assumes that anybody buying off of craigslist cares. Ftfs:
No one wants to buy a stolen bike

Then you don't believe in the rule of law. If you want the laws to be changed, there are plenty of ways to accomplish that.
The laws we have now disagree with you.
the law? i am the law!

I always though of "jumped the shark" to mean trying too hard to the point where it becomes obvious to everybody that you're trying too hard.
you know what i mean, an uncontrolled out of control runaway explosion like on my laptop battery.

Wow dude, that's messed up.
it took me some time to get this but now I see! +1!
