I just upgraded to a smart phone and hated how every app I wanted to download wanted everything. Why should Pac Man need my contacts list and GPS information?...
Exactly why I haven't installed any new apps on my Galaxy S4 since buying it. I figured I'll download the SDK and build what little I need. For all you know some of the simplest free* apps may be written by NSA fronts.

or free as in speech, considering nsa worked to influence encryption standards and put shills into the open source development process.
yeah but these court actions are unfounded and essentially a shakedown by shady lawyers like Saul Goodman. The question at hand is if the suit is merited.
1) if they're going to release it into the sea anyway, then they could just release the highly-radioactive water and let is dilute into the ocean
2) why don't they just let the tanks evaporate over time? surely the heavy metals would stay in the remaining liquid portion, and the volume of water would steadily decrease. Soon you have a manageable amount of super radioactive water. Thoughts?
actual scenario: the consumer bought a laptop from best buy. he assumed the laptop came with a charger, but it didn't because that's what the manufacturer decided to do, and said so on the box (perhaps it was in small letters). So user sues best buy because the product didn't meet his expectations. Just call Saul!
It's possible that there was someone out there who was stupid enough to not realize that apple was not making breaking bad, and he or she happened to somehow have enough money to hire a lawyer who was willing to take their money in exchange for nothing.
Maybe his or her lawyer is... Saul Goodman! Just call Saul! Ha ha BB humor.
they don't need to. but their working plan is to vaccuum everything into their dbs in that datacenter in Utah, and keep it on record in case they ever want to inspect it, for example, if they're inspecting somebody else and they want to go three or four hops out from their aquaintances (remember 6 degrees of separation...). So yeah, they're going to grab the data and then look at it later with no notification, warrant, probable cause, or oversight. Maybe my donation to EFF will throw a red flag and get me on the no fly list, so the TSA can grab my junk then eject me from the line. This is how the dominos fall.
speaking of suspicious, why would anybody need to use bitcoin? surely for nefarious, possibly terrorist purposes. remember, there are two kinds of citizens: terrorists and potential terrorists.
btdubs everything we learned about NSA applies to GCHQ (the british NSA) as well - they're besties and share all their tricks and secrets.
Lastly, three months ago I would have said that these ideas were tin foil hat nut job conspiracies. But post-snowden, all bets are off. it's all been published in NYT, WaPo, and Guardian - newspapers of record.
after all the NSA news from last week, how can anybody take a digital currency seriously? Encryption is totally cracked. Whatever "safeguards" have been cracked. Sure, my bank account can be accessed online and presumably owned as well, but my bank account is ensured by the government - digital bits are not.
fair enough. but what's the economic justification for the train to make sure the gov't breaks even? how do you make sure you don't build a billion dollar white elephant?
you be flip, but seriously. it's called "signals intelligence" for a reason. if you don't want it taken, don't transmit it over the internet. I'd say an airgapped desktop or laptop is still fine, tho.
But those actions are just as legal for them as for a man to follow a woman in a dark alley. They just go in the same direction. A woman may be scared; but legally it means nothing; she is not entitled to, for example, turning around and throwing a knife at the man.
actually in Florida she is entitled to do so, because Stand Your Ground isn't based on any objective evaluation. If you feel like your life is in danger, then you can kill the other person with no provocation.
have you even heard of snowden? have you been in a cave the last three months? or are you such a fanboi that your head is in the sand still?

FTFS:
"Datacenters wanting to emulate Google by encrypting their data beyond the ability of the NSA to crack it..."
bahahahahaha! why would anybody think that goog is trying to "protect" the data of its users/product?

is your first amendment solution to advocate using protected speech a second amendment solution?
why not let the water evaporate? this would be the best solution I think.

+1 irony

Time to dust off the guillotines.
That's the second amendment solution.
I searched 'valuable knowledge', did not see any porn ads. Maybe they're sending you targeted advertising based on browsing history?
What is this? Side boob is from the side, so how could you see both at once?
I seriously doubt this was apple!s decision. Wrong party to sue.
be careful, lest your skanky wife crush your head with it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYmA41QJsyg

I think it would be the right thing to do to start keeping track of all the people who have thrown our country away.
You mean a list of all voters and nonvoters too?
The question still stands, how do you make sure you don't build a billion dollar white elephant?
But they do: Fuel tax.
Doesn't cover the cost of the roads.
The tax yielded from general economic development covers the cost of the roads.
Umm actually construction and maintenance of the roads is nearly 100% financed through the highway trust fund, which comes from gas tax. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highway_Trust_Fund

Instead they got in bed with MS and ended up with a fecal disease.
FTFY!
