They might screw up, but it's not going to be something fundamental as less powerful with shorter but multiple keys. I'm pretty sure they learned concepts like that very very early in their PHD program.

what amuses me though is all these /.ers who think they outsmarted the profs. One smart guy said "and not even a white paper? not a good sign."

point in fact - you read the MEDIA PIECE, not the original white paper. Just because you read how it's using different keys for each second, you jump to your trolling conclusion that security is compromised. Stability, speed, and reliability are the known high points of Linux, and the main reasons why I prefer it to Windows. I thought I was being sarcastic enough by giving Windows these attributes, but I guess not :)

My post was meant to be a tongue-in-cheek parody of the parent post, who complained about the lack of KDE posts. Frankly, /. is not a equal opportunities news site, and they have always posted what "they" think are interesting or "Stuff that matters." I don't find it wrong if /. has a slant towards Gnome. Everyone has a bias. Hence my mockery of the parent post requesting "more Microsoft news". I was going to add a bit about /. not posting about Gate's daughter's new toy (which would probably lead to more people getting my post, I guess), but I thought my comment about "Slashdot better start posting more news that I want to see" would be strong enough.

Anyways, apologies for that little flame session. If I were to flat out state that it was satire in my first reply, instead of being too flame-happy, none of this would have dragged on.
