So you are saying that if I go into a store and put a copy of The Sims under my jacket and walk out without paying it is the same as burning an illegal copy of a friend's game? I have to disagree.
Let's see you walk into Electronic Arts and say that.

Ah, which of us didn't lust over Olivia Hussey. Leeeeaaaaaniinng over the balcony.
I quite enjoyed Baz Luhrman's rendition in spite of Leo. Rocked the same way Moulin Rouge did. 'Course you either like his stuff or YOU ABSOLUTELY *LOATH* IT!
Lucas rips off^H^H^H^H^H is inspired by Japanese culture in a many ways:
Light sabers = samurai swords
Kimono-like clothing styles esp. in Phantom Menace
Japanese naming and Japanese language-derived terms: Obi = belt/sash Wan = Harbour Kenobi - Means nothing but Japanese syllabary Jedi from "Jidai-geki" = "period drama"
Satellite enters atmosphere 100 miles up at 15,000mph over Bavaria resulting in pretty light show. Toasted remnants of said satellite hit Himalayas 5 minutes and 5,000 miles later.
You're right about angular momentum conservation but keep in mind the relative masses and speed of the objects in question (P=mv). The mass of the crane+train is negligible compared to the entire ISS. The length of the action of the train drive on the track is also tiny compared to the dimensions of the space station and the train moves veeerry sloowwly. What angular momentum is imparted to the station by the train moving will most likely be absorbed by the natural flex of the station itself.
Great example of this in action is in the IMAX film "Mission to Mir" where you see Mir's solar wings and other sections bounce noticeably when the shuttle docks.
"Ping PING pong ping ping. May I please have your attention. Due to a magnitude 6.0 moonquake on the Tycho main line, the supaa-hoshi express will be 23 seconds late. We sincerely and deeply apologize for the major inconvenience this may cause our honoured passengers."
The most I've been delayed on a regular Japanese train was 35 minutes due to a major quake.
On a subway it was a couple of hours, but that was due to some people tossing Sarin nerve gas around.
This is all very nice but I'll keep my Quad ESl 57's Thank You. Looks like a pair of oversize space heaters, sounds like a dream. Not even a brand-new set of Martin Logans compares with these hand-crafted beaties.
When these were at my dad's house thieves broke in and took all the other audio stuff (some of it pretty crappy Radio Scrap) but left these speakers not knowing what they were missing.
There's a pair relatively cheap on eBay right now.
I inherited a pair of Quad ESL 57's from my Dad and nothing sounds like these. Best for acoustic music. The addition of a subwoofer for the low-end will give you a listening experience that no box speaker's can match.

Yes. It did.
The fade at the end from soaring model rocket to roaring shuttle engines does it for me.
Old enough to understand the in-jokes. Old enough to understand the technology when it wasn't yet kewl.
I haven't watched the Colossus, The Forbin Project for a while (talk about BIG iron) but I recall it as far more intelligent then anything made about computers since despite very dated tech. Colossus ordering the execution of the techies trying to disable it may have seemed a bit overboard but the intelligent firepower currently in use in Afghanistan is only one step away from being able to autonomously identify, target and kill an adversary.
Damn, beat me to it.
Much, MUCH better. Including more interesting dialog...
Colossus (text on display screen): "HOW MANY NIGHTS A WEEK DO YOU REQUIRE SEX?"
Forbin: "Every night."
Colossus: "NOT WANT. REQUIRE."
Forbin: "Four times."
You are young.
;-)
You missed the obvious reference.
Zienia Merton turned my crank.
Claire Forlani's trailer was parked beside our driveway.
As if you all care...
... in case I may need it one day.
And there, my friend, is the value.
And come the day you "need" the software, will you pay for it?
I hope one of these days I get the opportunity to steal from you.
Don't lower yourself to his level.

Only he doesn't sound a bit like Chretien. The DJ was far too intelligible.
There were plenty of Canadian ads. The Molson "I am Canadian" spot was in the top 10 for ages.

I like GLTron better. Closer to the movie in visuals. GPL'd.
A very talented artist. I was always amazed at what could be produced at 320x200x32. Note, that's 32 colours, not 32k!
:-)
A portfolio of his work is here.

"out way"??!! You actually used "out way"??
Just when you think Slashdot can't get any more illiterate along comes an even worse example.
