Its karma for Christ's sake, not money. You don't get any smarter, stronger or better looking because your karma is higher. To boot, you are well above the +1 bonus mark. That's like complaining you lost a point off of the SAT's so instead of 1390, you got 1380. The difference is negligable .
Well it really depends on what you are doing and how youare trying to do things. Perfect example is internal documentation. It isn't in a 2d format (usually).
Lord knows how annoying it is to write a document so generic, that translating it to other forms can be possible. XML is the perfect format since there is always some middle ware that can turn XML say, into PDF's or HTML. To html, you have XSLT, its a no brainer. But to say a PDF, you can use another scripting language to process the XML and write out the PDF binary. Now we can create a handbook and have some cool stuff on the web without destroying the site.
XML can also have internal uses for say, templating. Using XSLT, you can build a tempalte that would do cool stuff like
The nature of information isn't that it wants to be free, but that once at least one person has a piece of information true, made up or creative (story/hypothesis), the extent to which it can spread, regardless the medium, will spread.
We all didn't see our first dirty picture at 18, we saw it when we became so interested in it, that we hunted it. Want to prevent people from not sharing sound and video, or have control of who accesses it: never have it to begin with.

Along with the reading of material via the web, making it readable via say, forumzilla would be kick ass.
From what I've heard, you can guarantee that there is a human body behind that digit by using heat sensors. The heat of a human hand is supposedly VERY hard to artificially dupliicate.
~$200 of hd is say (I haven't checked) 60gigs? ~$100 is 40gigs.. so for $100 or so, you get 20 gigs of hd space. for $100, you aren't getting more than 2 gigs of ram for a solid state device.
if the problem was replacing the onboard cache with dimms, your arguement is perfect for the most part, ecept the memory for a hd is a different layout:)
You do get an E for effort on confusing me at first;)
Well, you know how it goes with those blasted office printer/copier super machines. First you print out 30 pages of your sylybus. Great, there's a typo, gotta reprint them. Great, the printer/copier starts to crease the paper in funny ways. Then it starts to print streaks. Then you have to pay someone to fix them. Now multiply that by the number of departments you have that offer classes. THAT is where your money is coming from. Perhaps we should just sue Canon, Xerox et al for their little.. conspiracy to kill more trees and make money off of it...
Does orthagonality relate to the wavelength or the relative angles the light is sent? If the latter, any reason they couldnt' use colour as a second channel? (particular wavelengths)
NOno, with a mac its different. With a pc its awkward because they don't have to ask. The other point being that their programs are installed already, and have first view vs alternates which would have to be loaded up first and then do a file->open to play the file.
You are granting the user a little more responsibility which they might not handle. Agreed, if they did a little more research, yes, they can find it. But the point is that if you have mp3's and MS is already associated with them, who is to say that someone will sit and figure out how to get realplayer to work with them. Worse yet, whos to say that because they used the MS one first (by default), they aren't getting an unfair advantage by getting first choice of what is seen as an mp3 player to use. Being first seen is usually an advantage.
In the article, it mentions the Mac way of doing it is quite nice without mentioning its downfall. I made the mistake of trying out soundjam on one of my mp3's, and then it changed its resource fork (or so i was told it is called), 8 or 9 bytes saying what type of file it is and what its associated to. Great, so this mp3 when I double click on it launches soundjam instead of itunes. I never asked for that.
Over time, I got irritated with soundjam and went back. I got rid of the program but the association is still there. I know how to fix it, but if someone was a little less knowledgeable or someone writes a program to change all my associations, I'd be quite.. irritated.
I know, its possible for any dos/win program to change my PC file extensions too, but its more obvious and probably a lot less likely.
9.81 m/s^2 seems to be taught to less people, though its supposedly closer to the true acceleration due to gravity. Did you take non-engineering physics?
You'll get over it. The difference is negligable. I've had people excuse thigns like waranties just because i'm a day over. Its all negligable.

Everything is hackable, its just a matter of time of figuring out how. (/zen)
You got it wrong, its 40 grand, not 40 grams ;) (/joke)

[html][body]Hi [username/][/body][/html]
which would be translated into something like
[html]

[script language="php"]
getUsername();
[/script]
[/body]

VERY nice stuff for designers to use.
Yes, I know my php tags and html open/close entities are arcane/wrong... but this is to make it easier to type on my part

I swear.. you are going to hell in a handbasket for that bad joke.. or something else wooden. Maybe your own computer. ;) [/joke]
FreeBSD? :) [/joke]
I misread that one as teaming up for a car having emoticons. Just what we need... cars with smiley faces on it =) =( >=) C=) *shudder*
We should patent the idea of a beowulf cluster so that we don't make that bad joke anymoer...
;P
He should stop using 2.x and just start going 3,4...
re: your sig
You haven't lived until you've used ASCII for downloads. That was such a pain in the butt.
A glove would disrupt the heat mind you..

It involved lots of mexican food and other 'gas-y' foods, eh?
Right, I know how to do it, but I had to spend time figuring it out :)
Until you sneeze and reboot your computer :)

Unfortunately you'll have to wait 20% longer than the proposed release date of the ps4 to actually get one. (/joke)
