Oh, and people who actually want jobs that pay well. College might not make you smart, but it does help to have that degree when you're applying for a job.
the kids who studied and did well did dumbfounding things when they graduated. The kids who tolerated the classes, got stuck on an easy problem that they missed learning in school.
I'd actually rather watch a show die due to lack of popularity. At least then I would know that the show doesn't have anything else left in it instead of wondering if I missed something good if it was still on. And as for Seinfeld, it was passed its prime and was really crappy when they canceled it. The show was supposed to be based on real life but by the end, it all turned into a cartoon. The episodes were moronic and the jokes were childish.
It's just like that commercial from IBM (i think) where the company makes their e-commerce site live and they start getting swamped with more orders than they can handle. Well, my point is, if site X can't handle a couple thousand users, then site X shouldn't be on the net... or they should sign up with IBM e-commerce solutions:)
I think you're wrong. Joe Schmore doesn't give a rats ass what's on his computer. If he hears that Microsoft opened up parts of their source code, he'll just shrug it off, as he would if his toaster manufacturer opened up their specifications. Joe just wants to read his e-mail and view his porn sites, he doesn't want to install new OSes and learn more about the one he's using. The only way to get Joe Schmoe to use another OS is if the OS came preinstalled with his Compaq - just like his Windows was.
what's so hard about understanding the attitude? They just fear change. WinNT is like the comfortable old shoe. The shoe is raggy, torn up, on the verge of falling apart but you know the shoe. You love the shoe. The shoe makes you feel safe and comfortable, whereas linux is like a brand new sneaker. You haven't broken into it yet, it's too fancy, high tech and new compared to your good ol' shoe. They just didn't have time to break into the new sneaker.
Final Fantasy is better for the console systems because it's a console RPG. Computer RPGs, I find, have less story and more "role-playing." You build up your character, choose their stats, choose their actions, etc. It's supposed to be you in the game. You choose who to kill, you choose where to go next, it's more open ended. Console RPGs focus more on a main story with plot twists, relationships, revenge, all that crap. You start with some character and the only reason to gain levels is so you can defeat the boss and proceed to the next story twist. You have no real control of where the story takes you. These types of RPGs are better on the console because they're simple. If I sit in front of a tv and turn on my Playstation, I'd like to see some action or some story. Since computers can handle bigger worlds with changing characters, computer RPGs have those statistics. I for one, prefer computer RPGs better. I can't stand the linearity of console RPGs. If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd pay 8 bucks at the theatre.

In the year 3000, the internet will be 2 times faster and 500 times bigger!
It is mandatory reading. I had to read Clockwork Orange and F451 in high school and my friend read 1984 in different english class in the same school.

This may be a trivial matter, but it *is* a big turnoff to many.

It's a double edged sword but either way, Linux will be on top! Woohoo!
