    Apple are known to ditch current technologies if they think they have a better option for the future.

    They dropped their own proprietary ports in favour of USB.
    They dropped floppy drives around the time USB flash drives appeared.
    They dropped SCSI in favour of FireWire.
    They dropped PowerPC in favour of x86.
    They're currently dropping FireWire in favour of Thunderbolt on most of their computers.

    They may still be supporting Objective-C in parallel to Swift today, but what makes you think Swift won't be the only option in a few years?

    If web developers are morons for being able to make their stuff work on multiple operating systems on multiple versions of multiple browsers with standards that work half the time, then regular programmers who can't even optimize their programs for a single platform are just useless idiots who complain for nothing.
