This is just insane. Going to 50 miles, or 62 miles, or even 200 miles straight up is utterly pointless. It does not advance us at all.

You realize that the original roller coasters were wood, didn't go very far or fast. Now we have death pendulums and vommit ridden corkscrews.
Advancement into space is just like smart phones. Someone has to pave the road for that bleeding edge tech to do things we couldn't do before.
Don't complain that these front runners get bragging rights to almost space, because soon you and I will be able to go all the way into actual space for far less.

You didn't. You know why? Because you can't code. So STFU.

I'm actually glad this happened. People need to realize that [quality] software development is a skill that should be paid for. Too often entire business sites/models are founded on using the free hard work of other people. I rely on some open source stuff, but it's not mission critical stuff. We use software that came with a license, that has an 800 number on the other end if something bad happens.

Besides the giant hole in your "dragging mouse" not being the same as "a gesture" thing and the even bigger "unlocking" doesn't equate to "changing state", you do realize there there is still a "pointer" in the operating system, so it knows where you're clicking/dragging/swirling? But not a very good one. The energy to weight ratio sucks, it leaves large amounts of ash, and, being solid, can't be used in any of the myriad applications that require liquid or gaseous fuel.

The cost to heat ratio is what I am concerned about. The electric/gas company tells me every year it costs more and more to keep my house at barely acceptable levels. Wood, on the other hand costs me almost exactly the same as it did the first year I started harvesting (I've gotten better at it, so it's actually cheaper).

I require no "specialized" tools or licenses to obtain, transport, refine, or consume it. A cord of wood will produce about 4 buckets of ash (about 1% of the total weight), which i will dump in the garden. I do not pay taxes on it, and the longer I hold on to it, the better it gets. There are actually ways of running your car on wood, though it requires more skill than most of the average population can handle. (Search Gasifier) Oil is the primary fuel for vehicles because it is almost stupid proof. Refueling your car is easier than feeding a baby; the pump will shut off when the car is full.
