I wouldn't go that far. I would like to see the same service offered in other countries with their local stuff (India, UK, Korea, Nigeria) but I wouldn't expect one company to get everyone's shows.
I was talking about TV so I'm willing to wait 24 hours. For movies, unlike most complaints I'm actually willing to wait a few months. Like 3 maybe 5-6 for subtitles. If it's out of theatres I expect it streaming.
you know I would pay for a private tracker that gave me good speeds. If I could pay for an official tracker that gave me DRM-Free video file torrents that would be worth it. Heck I would even consider modular monthly prices for channel limited content if the price was good. Something like $20 for the equivalent of basic cable and then $7 for the HBO torrents and then $7 for the Showtime torrents. I'll even wait 24 hours. In my dream it's DRM-Free, overlay free, and I can redownload whenever.
btw when on earth did the official streaming services start going hard on subscriber info? The ONLY reason I watched Lost was one day I was on ABC and saw four seasons of hyped TV available (in HD?) just waiting for me for free. Just a click away, and I was already watching stuff on ABC. I was linking to Fox.com for someone and immediately noticed it was asking for the cable subscriber's info. screw that.
Are people in China going to agree to this? 45% of the entire world's internet subscriber base strikes me as absurd.
Sure if Photoshop sold for $3 to every single person who owns a PC they would make way more money than if they sold their software for several hundred dollars. But it's not going to happen.
for $3 I'd pay $5 a copy and pass out legal copies to everyone I meet. I would do it so hard. I might spend hundreds of dollars making sure everyone I've ever met has Photoshop. It wouldn't even make sense but I'd do it.
for $15/mo I would pay but I want EVERYTHING. ANYTIME. ANYWHERE. For Decades.
they won't give me that. They'll drop some shows, they'll only last for a while. they'll block it in Canada offer different choices in Europe. It won't work in Trinidad. And without all that I'm not paying.
and yet at the same time those are rather common searches. Tall white dudes with light eyes. If you fit that you should have a lot of hits. What you have to remember is that OKC will select the top hits in that match based on compatibility. The article suggests that he wasn't getting that top slot positioning and when he was he wasn't getting good matches. It also suggests altering his profile is what got him top slot positioning in her search.
So his mathing didn't get him in her search. It got him highly ranked in her search.
no he didn't. His fiance found him with her own search. His analysis did nothing but get him a bunch of failed dates.
The reason she found him was that he optimized his profile so that he would appear in the kind of searches she does. His analysis put him on her radar.
you'll be fine. TV has a quick support exe if you need to literally walk them thru how to download. You can install the full version from Ninite.
TV also has VOIP support and camera support which is fun. ANd utterly amusing to watch on their end.
you can store a password with TeamViewer, set it up as a service to run in the background leaving it available to connect as long as the computer is powered up.
You don't even have to relate to computers as ID number you can store then as names if you sign up for a free account. It runs on a flash drive (not sure if LMI does this or not)
Far as I can tell that's everything a LMI user would want
TeamViewer is what I use. It's easy to install with Ninite. Requires little to no setup. Gives the muggles a password so they can feel secure. Let's you store the password if they don't need to be secure.
It's simple, it's easy. The only flaw is a pop up when you close the session. A "thanks for using our free service" sort of thing. Easily X'd.
um.. I already know. Filters are a terrible terrible idea for adults that get worse the larger the scale you try to apply them to. A porn filter for kids is one thing. Something like this happens as a responsible parent you whitelist it and move on. But for a COUNTRY? There's no way it was ever going to work. The entire history of web filters is told in story after story of false positives.
but dollar bills are reasonably private unlike a credit card. Long as you don't fill up at the ATM there you're pretty safe privacy wise when you use cash.
a bigger head. I mean you thought the industry was stuck up before with their "we're the reason you used VHS" yada yada. Now with their 4K shoots and then bitcoin... yeah their heads just gonna get bigger and bigger.
That said I don't think this is the same as VHS. Who knows I may be wrong I'm no techanalyst but there's obviously a big advantage to being able to pay for porn with an extremely private currency. Considering the amount of social stigma attached to the type of person who would pay for porn. I mean watch porn.
If a site had non-annoying ads I whitelist. Especially if it's site i want to support.
Sometimes I see those "Please unblock us" and I usually do. anyone willing to ask is willing to police their ads.
That said I'm not above taking them off the list if something changes. Heck sometimes if I'm feeling generous I'll open an ad in a new incognito page. Just for kicks. After all I'm not giving money to websites. I might as well throw them a quarter or whatever. Some sites "pay me" after all with contests and such that I've won pretty regularly on.
which was done decades ago, I laughed at the 80s mention, I was taught as child in the 60s and in 70s this was popular science fair homemade wind tunnel experiment.
Right, because the guy should have remembered being taught it before he was born rather than so late in the game as when he was a child.
that's not the point. This isn't TIL on reddit. It'll be new to my nephews when i tell them this week. it was news to him in the 80s but this shouldn't be news to the scientific community. That's the whole point of the scientific community that we don't have to relearn things every generation.
they're harmful because it deprives people of food that they can't otherwise afford. The idea is that there are people who can't get food period. GM rice is what enabled them to survive without malnutrition. In the first world GM foods again contain nutrients that people don't get enough of. Particularly if you're of a low income family.
That's the sort of argument that's being made. Now personally i agree with most people that there's too much GM food. They did a good thing in the Great Depression by using government cuts to basically encourage corn production for instance.. but we don't need that anymore.. and thus we don't need that much corn any more. This is the entire reason they have high fructose corn syrup, because we over produce corn and had to find new ways to use it.
But outright BANs on GM food are more complicated. The corn industry is huge they have some of the deepest pockets in the world. It's all very well and good to try to take them down but you don't want to hurt third world countries who need modified rice etc.
Since you didn't ask I'm not like financially stable or anything but my part is that I don't eat meat on Thursdays. I'll probably never go full vegetarian but one day a week isn't too bad.
as a psychopath perhaps he realized he could achieve more fame and therefore more power by coming forth and adapting himself to new ways. I've always understood that psychos were perfectly capable of being nice people. It's just they don't feel an intrinsic need to be nice people so they aren't nice unless it serves some purpose.
same here... that episode is the only one I haven't seen. Too cringy for me. I read a synopsis and remained cringed out.
