In some nations they would then have to paid welfare by the government. Of course they do not have the mental ability to manage it so they would have to institutionalized. You could not turn the back into the wild because you can not just deport mentally challenged people.... Yea this is a mess.
She is 4. At 4 I wanted to be an Astronaut because men were landing on the moon and I could see it on TV. One should not try to force a child to be into the same thing you are. My parents where all into business and politics. I liked science. My parents where into playing golf and tennis. I liked riding my bike and hiking. At four you should give your kids lot of options and safe and controlled experiences so that they can find out what they like. I lived less than an hour from Kennedy Space center but my family never went until I finally nagged them to go in 1976. "Sure... once they're all down you will see differences. But they have never all been down" At 4 in the home they probably are.
And even if you point the panel west you are still down to %55 output by 5PM. In the summer peak often runs to 9PM. And in the winter it will make next to no power at all. That is the problem with solar. Even the best production curve badly mis-matches the consumption curve. In many parts of Florida you have another issue. Summer is the wet season. You often get rain and clouds in the afternoon...
Yea and I live in Florida which has a lot of sunshine. So do you want to see how well this would do in 50 MPH winds from a tropical storm? How about 125 mph winds from a hurricane. Maybe even 60 mph winds gusts from a thunder storm? Or if you live in the northern area a meter of snow? Now age that structure 5 years....
That is the issue. People are thinking about a system that works on a nice day and when it is almost new. They never think of one that might get 20+ inches of snow and winds of 70mph after 10 years of service.
And yet it is totally legal and for sale just about everywhere. Get back to me when you start massive protests to stop the sell of all tobacco products.
"Just because people are doing it doesn't make it safe, it just makes them ignorant." It is not "safe" to drive a car. It is not safe to eat produce. Both actions have killed people... If people have been living there for almost 27 years then it is probably not nearly as terrifyingly dangerous as many think.
No. You can be ordered to hand over all your records. You can not be made to say what they mean.
With a court order your phone can be tapped your home and car disassembled, your bank records taken, your email taken. It has been that way for a few hundred years.
Exactly. Unless you are rich by birth you have to work to pay bills. In the FOSS world you have five kinds of developers. 1. The company they work for pays them to work on the project. 2. They make money customizing and supporting a FOSS project. 3. They are working on a project for school or college and decide to make it FOSS. 4. They love to right code and they are doing it for fun.
If you are category 4 and it stops being fun you move on to playing board games, riding motorcycles, or backpacking.
"That doesn't mean you actually owe me anything for reading this post, which I have nevertheless taken the time to write, nor that it is unethical for you not to pay me." If you put up your own website and put ads on it because YOU WANT TO BE COMPENSATED the yes. When you decide to post on someone else website and know that you will not be then no. Think of it this way. If I give you a tomato that I grew then you are free to take it. If I put it on a stand with a box that says ten cents a tomato and you take one then you are unethical.
It is ethical for you to do what you want and be compensated how you want. It is unethical to say how others should be compensated for their work. When I help sling sod at Habitat for Humanity I do not get paid. It would be unethical for me tell someone else they have to help me lay sod at my house for free.
So they use oil to mean coal? I do not think so... I think they actually mean oil but have no clue that it is not really used for generation of electricity. I as does the gov lump bunker, gasoline, and diesel under oil but coal????
I will be 50 next year so it is not ageing. THe thing is that people forget just how bad it was in the past. In the 60s people where sure that the Bald Eagle and the Bison would go extinct. In the 1970s lake Erie was considered dead and a river in Ohio was so polluted that it caught fire. People were predicting that humans would be on the brink of extinction by 2000. As education and standards of living go up population growth goes down. China forced this issue in ways that I find immoral but Indias population growth will soon start to slow. Recycling of a lot of materials along with new methods of extraction will increase the amount of commodities available. Take a look at historic trends and you will see commodity prices are still going down as a whole. Sure you see spikes now and then but the trend is down. Frankly I wish I was younger because I think the future is going to be better than the past. But then I am a big history fan and know that it was not all sock hops and malt shops.
And you just proved that you have no understanding of this issue. Do you have any idea how much oil is used for electrical generation in the US? Less than 2% of all electrical power comes from Oil. Far less than wind or solar. It is only used really in remote locations like Hawaii where gas and coal are not practical.
You would not. You would replace the coal plants with nuclear and keep natural gas. Oil in the US is only used isolated locations where coal and gas are not good options like Hawaii. You would keep the Hydro and gas for now and keep wind and some solar where it makes sense.
The problem I have is the "resources will decrease" part of it. Iron/steel, aluminum, and glass are just about infinitely recyclable. Power if the Lockheed High beta, the Polywell and or Thorium molten salt reactors go into production will also be even more available than now. Frankly it is just as likely we will live in a world with greater abundance than today.
Funny but if I spend a lot of time on something and want money for that work it is not ethical for you to give back by indulging in your hobby. The solution is simple. Stop going to ad supported websites.
Angry mob that does not have all the evidence vs a grand jury that does have the evidence.
The grand jury could be wrong but the mob is without a doubt wrong. AKA this is a lynch mob that the KKK would be proud of.
Rule of law is imperfect but it is much better than the rule of the mob.
Simple you where not on the Jury so you only have the evidence the media you pick gives you. 1. Brown was high. 2. He had just robbed a store and physically attacked the owner of the store. 3. The officer had injuries. 4. The shots where fired at close range. AKA the evidence did not match the witnesses. 5. Eyewitnesses are not reliable.
The real issue is we do not want trial by public opinion. That is called a lynch mob. MLK never set anything on fire or looted.
My complaint is that no one seems to read anymore. As I said over all I think this is a good idea. You sir are seeking offense when none was intended or given.

Simple answer just read Asimov and we will be good to go.

Fear motivates and sells.
"more destructive riots after SPORTS EVENTS."
Yea that was also a mob and wrong.
And you just proved that you have no understanding of this issue.

Two PHDs after trying to make it for 4 years.....
Yea chew on that.
It is not just two "Google Engineers" saying so.
You would not.
You would replace the coal plants with nuclear and keep natural gas. Oil in the US is only used isolated locations where coal and gas are not good options like Hawaii.
You would keep the Hydro and gas for now and keep wind and some solar where it makes sense.
You mean you do not want to drive a rolling green house where half the energy is used to cool the thing to keep you from cooking?

The problem is the lack of leaders. Today all we have are activists that make a living by not fixing problems but by making them worse.

Or in a sub in the UK or France maybe.
Who cares?
