Im liking that idea...Anyone know of any hard drive emulating type devices, where I could just throw in a few sticks of the unused ram I have around here? (made a bulk ram purchase and ran of of slots/boxes for the ram) Then it would make at least an excellently fast/expandable swap drive, or i guess a volatile standard ramdisk (wouldnt be to hard to load the OS onto it automatically at each boot).

Oh drat, I have been exposed as an American. Call it stupidity or whatever you want, but I could care less if apple turns $1 profit, $10000000000000 profit, or loses $$$$$ every year. Just as long as someone keeps handing them the capital to continue operation/hanging around. Theyre like that weird cousin everyone has, kinda goofy, sometimes funny, original even. Fun to have around on a slow day, as long as he goes home when ive got something to do.

Do I have to spell everything out for all the super-intelligent non-Americans out there? What, you cant be bothered to think a few words beyond what was written? If I could give this world a gift, Id bitch-slap every AC out there. Especially the trolls who whose bait i swallowed hook, line and sinker.

Though I do not like the OS, or the flowery designs, a mac still sits on my home network. Why? Good question, Im not entirely sure. It serves no production purpose, i dont play games on it, i have yet to load linux ppc on it. Its kinda cool though, if for no other reason than its Just Different(tm). As far as business is concerned, I could care less how apple does, just as long as they continue to hang around, being a thorn in my side when ive got an unhappy mac user on the phone. Now Next(tm), THAT mattered. Pretty cool stuff, there used to be one at my old job, living life as a sound editing box. Time to stop rambling.

It takes about 2 hours for initial setup, but a real timesaver:

Take step by step configuration screenshots for all your supported MS and Mac OSes. (for the *nix folk, just a sheet of all necessary info) Place all these in plastic page holders and then into a bright pink binder. Depending on the density of the dorms, distribute on per hall/floor/building. Let the students know they are encouraged to set it up themselves, and they'll have to wait their turn if they need personal attention. Many will be a little afraid, but will feel good after they do it.
