A lot of places are based on property taxes, suburban neighborhoods have high property taxes due to home size, etc., and this creates more funds for suburban schoools and less for places in cities.
So you dismiss an example of an issue, which you could replace tea with skydiving/hunting/fishing/homosexuality or anything you want, because it doesn't fit within your narrow experiences?
My Discover Card had a feature where you could be given a one time number for a transaction online, I don't know if they still do it, but I imagine they do. This doesn't seem much different than that or any more convient. So what's the big deal?
The time line is a bit off, in 1983 aircraft, boats and hikers got gps, so soldier in the gulf war were also able to use it. It wasn't as precise, but being on a boat or plane or hiking 100 yards or whatever it used to be off by wasn't a super huge issue. During the gulf war public use was actually turned off so the military could have better access. So I don't know how well those commercial ones you speak of worked. Then in 1993 it was back on. More GPS units were sent into orbit in 1995 and then bam, 2000 Clinton allowed car gps to work. http://www.maps-gps-info.com/g...
When I search for news sights I use the little snippet under the link to see if that's the article I want to read, I don't just want to first paragraph nowadays, especially since most "news" sites wrtie like magazines instead of newspapers. Gone are the days of reading one paragraph that summarizes the whole story, they're full of fluff and links to "relevant" articles that I don't click on (mostly cause it's harder and harder to tell what's spam or malware type sites vs legitimate ones.
If you subtract court costs associated with prosecuting marijuana offenders, subtract out prison cots for marijuana offenders, I'd bet anything they've made more money than 184 million.
This makes no sense to me. They claim they don't need a search warrant because it's in another country, but if I lived and worked in another country for a foreign company the US still says I'd have to pay US income tax on that money. If I'm still answerable to US tax law (which is an amendment to the constitution) no matter where I live or who I work for the US government should also be applicable to the same set of rules.
What are you talking about? The unactivated equipment? He didn't say he didn't order that, but that he was being charged. It's like getting an extra DVR for later when you finish installing a tv in another room. The other equipment he didn't order and he took back.
Heck Comcast brought two DVRs to my house we only kept one and the driver left with the other. It took 4 months for them to stop billing me for it, they claimed the driver never turned it back in and that it was my problem. Huge pain, but it finally got resolved after talking to someone higher up.
their advertising because the site will carry female journalists and articles about female gamers? That sounds like the type of decision that backfires on a company.
That's what I was thinking. They harassed him and get off without a worry. I figure because his accusations are hearsay and his actions are documented.
How about all those telephone companies that were forced to give service to every American and look how they all went bankrupt, oh wait, no they didn't. ISPs like to say that it will stop expansion, but in reality the government will force them to instead of waiting for Google to announce they're coming to a new city and force the network improvements.
But if you only have wifi or don't have sms for some reason you can still send them. Where I live I have cable internet, but no cell service.
Where did you read this last week? Just curious cause I'm always looking for other news sources.

See that makes sense then, most people using GPS aren't in those areas.

Were you in a mountain valley or a gorge?

This should be upvoted.

I've never heard of this, only the opposite.
Too bad this is America; where we allow for profit companies to run public works projects all of the time.
Yes, as stated above by another member, some insurance companies have sued over accident rates at certain intersections.
Not true, it reduces the rate of rear end collisions and red light runners. The same level of people proceed through.

Giving cash and gifts even in the form of plane rides is illegal in the United States. Congress members do get in trouble for it when they're caught.

My biggest problem is dust getting behind the lens of my cell phone versus scratches, and I don't use a case.
