These beasties need to be set using a static timing method to TDC where the notch on the crank pulley lines up with the split in the case. You can time them using a timing light, but with the vacuum and centrifugal advance it's really hard to know where to set it at idle, and I can assure you it's not 0 degrees from TDC but somewhat advanced if memory serves. With a standard ignition on a quiet morning I could set the timing with just a crescent wrench (by listening to the arc when the points opened) but once I put the electronic ignition it took just a light bulb across the coil to ground.
But that's just me, Mr cheap-o transportation who had less than $1,000 total invested in his car... I make more money now so I can afford something with AC and reliable heat....
You are correct with a stock distributor (Bosch 010, etc), it's usually 7.5 degress BTDC static and there should be a notch/paint on the pulley to mark that.
But for bug motors with aftermarket 009 distributor (LOTS of these out there), you need to use a strobe/timing light.
Bugs are awesome. No power brakes, no power steering, cable clutch, manual trans yet they're easy/fun to drive and get 26+MPG. KISS principle on wheels. And if you leave the thermostat/flaps in place the heat is very reliable.
Such behavior may not rise to the level of criminality, but there's no reason why OSU should not feel entirely justified in expelling these students. Expulsion is a consequence of either gross academic misconduct, or severely antisocial behavior that is against university policy. OSU isn't the government and its students do not have a legal right to attend. Otherwise, anyone could just decide they want to go there regardless of admissions.
These students did what others did: they applied and were accepted under the condition that they would behave according to university standards. Expulsion is the university's mechanism of saying that they cannot tolerate such behavior, as in their view, what they did was so egregious that their continued enrollment would be critically disruptive to the campus.
It's unfortunate you don't seem to understand the difference between legal action and expulsion. The latter is like getting fired from a job. You violate company policy, you get fired. End of story.
Wtf is a "metric" ton? A ton is and has always been metric. No need to specify.
Better phrased as tonnes (if metric). They should have just stuck with kilograms.
1 ton = 2240 lb (an imperial measurement).
1 tonne = 1000 kg (a metric measurement).
It's the Brits' fault:1 ton= 20 hundredweight= 20 X8 stone = 20 X 8 X14 pounds= 2240 pounds
It's a no-brainer. We just need to take it to the next level to turn this into a win-win situation. The best practice is to get rid of the low-hanging fruit first. Ping me with an agenda so we can go flag up on this thing
Sounds like you've got a real game changer there. Might even shift a paradigm or two.
My Bug was getting 40+, but didn't quite have the range because the tank was small. No warm up time needed, just pull the choke and go. With the larger oil capacity of the aircooled engines, so long as you didn't over heat it, you can let it go longer than you should (10k miles wouldn't cause too many issues, so long as you drove it often enough to keep it from gumming up).
Air cooled Bugs actually have less oil than most cars, about 2.5 quarts. Anybody who wanted to drive their VW beetle more than 30K miles wouldn't go over 5K without changing the oil (and adjusting the valves).
Uh, no. You're taking a half-remembered fact and mangling it. Almost all of the corn raised in this country is usable for food. However, the fact you are mis-remembering is that most of the corn isn't edible by humans straight off the stalk. Just because you can't eat it without processing doesn't mean it isn't still food. Even discounting corn syrup (which is still food) there is hominy, corn meal, etc. Even the stuff used as animal feed is still part of the food chain and increasing it's price still increases the cost of human food.
So we grow more sweet corn instead of field corn. Done. Edible right off the stalk. Literally.
Somehow this is Tim Cook's fault. Steve Jobs would never have let it happen. Also it proves the inherent superiority of Android over the iPhone. I just haven't quite figured out how yet. I'm sure somebody will, though.
I'll give it a try. The Android user probably would have bought put options instead?
Actually it evolved into "Grizzly Bear on a Motorcycle carrying a Great White Shark with a Laser on its head."
i.e. The most dangerous animal in the world.

Every bottle of Bacardi 151 I've ever seen has had a flame arrestor on the mouth of the bottle.
A Little metal plate with small holes in it.
Google it.
Is this Western Samoa , or American Samoa? (I haven't been to either one, but I have been in the city with the highest population of (western) Samoans ie Auckland.

Can we pipe in the sound of squealing tires every time I turn? I want my ride to work to sound like an '80s movie car chase.
I always wondered how Bo and Luke squealed their tires on a dirt road. Amazing!

It could grip it by the husk.
