    All credit to this news article, and, my interest in this project just vanished.

    Seriously need to be careful how you use the word "hackers".
    For some of us it means the ability to "steal/control in the use of electronic methods and devices".
    And the unlucky new generation, well, it means how to make a button on your raspberry Pi.

    Are you the same guy that labels porn "amature". It's "amateur". "Amature" doesn't even exist, except if you interpret the "a-" prefix as "not", which then the word would mean "not mature".

    Not i'am just the guy who trusted Google Spell Checker a little too much.

    Not sure what porns got to do with incorrect spelling, but why not.

    Computers will get faster, they always do.

    But lets be honest, the influx of Java/Ruby/Python and "easy" amature programming are making our computers slower than they were 5 years ago.
    - Slower language before we even start.
    - Single thread
    - No optimizations. Dreadful performance
    - Relying on language safety measures, instead of "good logic". Buggy as hell.
    - Relying on 50+ library's, just to use 1 function in each.

    If only they would learn C++. Our processors probably wouldn't need to be upgraded for another 5 years.
    We can but dream, just a shame we live in this "fast food alpha" development world.

    This story would be more interesting if he corrected his eyes to "short sighted", this would improve the experience. He'd then be able to see alot more detail at close range, using his Oculus rift.

    Oh and, noone is truly "connected" on facebook. Its just a phase in our current generation to feel "important", which Facebook is profiting from.

    If you let students pick the modules that they want, then you may as well just say 'here's a library, go and learn some stuff' and you'll get more or less the same results.

    Kids today, pick Python / Ruby / Flash. Use one thread, riddeled with bad code, and, wonder why their program runs like shit on a i7 cpu. Strange that.....

    'Xenon Based Media Center'.. something something... It does not have to make sense. Just shorten it back to XBMC. There. No more trademark violation.

    The new name has nothing to do with XBMC or what it stands for. They may of well as called it Cloud, oh hail the buzz word that means fuck all and everything thats networked, at the same time.

    I've always been somewhat wary about these one-man custom distros or images. Do they contain malware? Probably not. But do they contain schoolboy mistakes which cause breakage or security problems? I think it's possible.

    Breakage:
    No. Everything works.
    I've been running this setup for over 2 years. I finally decided to share my installation with a guide. Not everyone is out to get you and your "security".

    Schoolboy mistakes:
    Everyone makes mistakes. Even you.
    By all means, find a issue and i'll gladly fix it in my free time.

    Security Problems:
    If you have "security concerns", you shouldnt be using any distro, unless you make it to your own "security" requirements.
    These debian images are aimed at home users, who just want a fast Pi doing their daily stuff.

    Logic comes 1st with programming, nothing else.
    Math or "Maths" is really a secondary skill which allows you to expand on your logic. You can essentially program with minimal knowledge of maths whilst simply using more if/else statements and logic to make up for it.

    I had a GCSE D in maths (lower than average), but i've always been very logical. I learnt the required maths by using my logic to test and understand what i needed, not the other way round.

    Programming without logic is nothing, programming without maths is something google can help you with very easily, or you will pick up yourself using logic.

    My last EA game was Battlefield 2142. This was just before the console market of idiots rolled in and changed games for the worse (mass buying DLC/2 hour gameplay titles).
    The game was buggy, poor phsyx movement with major inconsistencies. Your typical "lazy production game" for that era. But if you compare it to games out now, you could even class it as "perfect".
    Amazing how quality reduces over time when the money keeps flooding in.

    But yes, good to know that Ben Kuchera agrees with me, shame hes 8 years late.
