I constantly have people refer to my Moto X as an iPhone and tell me that it's natural for me to use an iPhone since I work on a lot of Macs. I don't think the Slashdot crowd are the type to get duped, but I can recount tons of people who went in for iPhones and were sold on Galaxy S3 by Verizon sales critters. I don't think really either is going to make for a better life more than the next. You can play Angry Birds while you poop with either equally effectively.

The magic is that it sold for two billion bucks. That's a lot of money riding on something cool to get out of it. It could be the next cool thing or the next MySpace. Either way that's a helluva lot of reasons for Facebook to do something with it. First and foremost I'm hoping they make Farmville VR so I don't have to drive 10 minutes to see what farming is like.
I was the same way about Windows 8, but since it was only a $20 upgrade from Windows 7 I took the plunge. Now it is only mild nausea and a case of the douche chills when I have to use the terms "Charms Bar".
I'd personally feel comforted if someone referred to the auto I was in an accident in as a "rolling sarcophagus". We need more frank honestly like this which could be potentially damning in courts. I'm sure KIA refers jokingly to their cars as Killed in Action when presented with queries about their safety. When Ford employees refer to their vehicles as rolling death boxes I'm sure whoever uses that terminology gets super not fired too.
Or to sit in a completely separate room with some dim lighting and mood music with a fellow guard they are comfortable with in intimate situations. These guards deserve the same opportunities for abuse the TSA was afforded. Working on turning otherwise functional members of society into lifelong criminals is as important a task as keeping our airlines free of Tara.
That's the kind of thing that keeps me up at night. In the event of a catastrophic event that could upset the lives of millions where will my InDesign layouts. When I rise from my bunker I'm going to still have trusty CS6 and those Creative Cloud subscribers are going to starve.
I don't see how it could possibly be a win for anyone unless they only use the product a couple months out of the year and end up paying less than perpetual licenses. They failed on their file storage for the better part of a year, forced their type syncing garbage into apps if you don't use it, give out useless junk like Behance that is of no use to people who aren't looking to pimp a portfolio, and have added zero useful features that merit paying every month for it.
The only audience I can think this is good for is students, freelancers, and unemployed seeking an audience to showcase their work who can't build a proper portfolio or interview well.
For those of us who depend on Photoshop for print work Gimp does not cut it. Gimp has come a long way, but nowhere on that way has it been beneficial for print work that I see on a business level. In terms of layout, nothing holds a candle to Adobe either. I'd love to ditch their software after the whole rent to never own software model, but all I can do is not move to CC and make sure they don't get a monthly bounty out of our company's workstations by keeping with the perpetually licensed software.
Sure, but when you are talking about Facebook, Yahoo, Cartoon Network, Disney, et cetera the goal is to have people stay on your website playing their stupid games. Take it out of the browser and they aren't on your site. Mobile apps still keep a strong tie with the ad/analytics network that feeds the cash cows. Free games need to maintain their product, the users' data.
Other than the $52 million to hospitals. He promoted organ donation heavily after receiving his much like Michael J Fox did with Parkinson's and Christopher Reeve did paralysis.
It is is as silly to use the term cyber criminal as it is to grant patents on everyday things when used on the internet. Scams and confidence schemes are ages old and regardless of what the current technology is, criminals will take advantage of them. It can be telegram, telegraph, mail, telephone, email, mobile, or whatever. The vehicle doesn't change the act.
Apple has a part in making sure their locks are good. If I lose my passcode to my iPad I'm out of luck. Regardless of how compelling the story is it doesn't change their unlocking policy. If they could convince the police that grandma was involved in some sort of illegal activity and get a court order they may have better luck.

It doesn't just run any Mico$oft O$. It runs the latest greatest Windows 8.1 which we all know isn't nearly as bad as Windows Vista 2013 Edition.

They did that very thing on the day that it crashed actually.

If today was the day you needed to revalidate you'll be having some hassles, though. 60 days is only if you got in for a year at a time, also.
Pretty sure Apple needs to log a sueball at these guys.
According to them it is better for their purposes.

I'd subscribe to Netflix if they could pull that off, and I'm not a Verizon customer.
And get wheat toast when they ask for white toast at breakfast!
EPOC per TFA.
My heart goes out to the Russian Resistance team for their downtime.
It could be great until it reaches far enough into laws you don't abide by or aren't even aware exist.

Wish I had mod points, I'd moderate you "informative".
You would if you made more interesting remarks than this.
Wish I had mod points, I'd moderate you "insightful".
I wish I had mod points, I'd moderate you "Underrated". Your comment has a je ne sais quoi.
