It is also worth noting that British crime data is fiddled with at every level all the way up to Scotland Yard. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new...

Also murders in England and Whales are only counted after arrest, conviction, retrial and been jailed. This is unlike literally every other country where "Dude he was murdered and we do not know the killer" is the rule to count as a murder.

  5. A puffy jacket also works well. Before you say 'shoot for the legs' you should know that taser are not super accurate and the chest is a nice big target to hit. Also tasers are not as incapacitating as people think. There is a video (that I can not find) of an officer being tased and still drawing and firing accurately as part of a demonstration. Also once the taser runs out of batter power you come out of it pretty quick unless your hart gave out and you are dead.

Pistols and most other firearms are made to function for tens of thousands rounds with out parts wearing out. Here is an example of a pistol being fired 50,000 times with cleanings at every 7,000 rounds and a few springs at each 10,000 proactively. Nothing was broken during that time. This an extreme case but he has done this with a number of other models and has gotten similar (but not quite as good) results.

Firearms that have been used for generations and that are still functioning fine are the norm and not the exception.

As to ammunition contamination we are a 100 years since getting your powder wet was an issue. Modern brass cased cartridges are pretty well sealed up solid with crimping of both the primers and actual bullet. In the case of defensive and military ammunition they add extra sealant sometimes for an extra measure. For an example of how little effect even things like penetrating oil has read the following.

I work at a school that has some people that have been doing phage research for a long time, not a long as the people in Georgia (as in Republic of) but a long time. One comment she made is that the quantity of different phages in a bucket of seawater would keep her busy counting them for the rest of her life. So do not worry, Unless you are boiling all your food and drink for 10 minutes and breathing though an deionizing airfilter you are sucking these thinks down left and right. The only issue and this is what the FDA was worried about is that when the phages rip the bacterial apart is there anything nasty in the waste product. There is not in this case.

It should be noted also that there is growning use of phages to treat antibiotic resistant staph infections that are otherwise incurable deadly. I get to see all sorts of nasty wounds on the posters I print for conferences. In the case case of the staph effecting phages there is some nastier waste products so it is generally just used externally.
