  1. What? Artwork? I can copy artwork with the camera on my phone, customer data is totally different from data delivered via a CDN service. Using a CDN is not really going to make a difference security wise, if anything it makes it harder to secure and keep track of all the different parts.

  3. In Sweden,,, on Who Owns Your Overtime? · · Score: 2

You are usually paid 50-100% extra for every extra hour worked which makes sense to me. It is costly to hire and train someone new so if you need someone for more hours than expected the employer will need to make an investment. This makes both parties happy. Some may also trade overtime for holiday time or leaving early on another day.

  5. It's about having control on Asteroid Risk Greatly Overestimated By Almost Everyone · · Score: 2

Getting hit by a truck is something I can control a little by being careful crossing roads. Ebola gets a little harder but I could stay inside and avoid people to reduce my chances of getting it. However it is harder for me to avoid getting abola than it is to avoid getting hit by a truck which is probably why some may fear it more, they can't see it coming. This makes an asteroid the worst because we can't really do anything about it (as a individual) and there is a chance we may not see it coming.

I have worked just like you seem to have, implementing designs around wordpress. In the beginning taking existing free themes and basically replacing the html/css and images with my own content. That was 10 years ago, I now consider myself a PHP developer as PHP is what I work with most of the time. I decided to make my own framework/CMS which fits my needs. Why? Because I can customize it from the ground up and make it suit my typical clients. I can tell you that i takes a lot more time than you would think and you are most likely better off stripping down an existing CMS like Wordpress and learning/modifying that code.

I'm 23 myself and learning so I can't really relate but we have 2 guys at our college going for a comp science degree and they are above 80, I believe one of them is 86. I have no idea why they are doing it but they have fun and it is interesting to see projects they come up with and learning from the problems they face. At one point the xcode debugger was just too complicated and it was interesting to listen to why and see what his reasoning was. I don't think it's ever too late, but it takes time to learn code and that is something you need to consider when learning, do you have time? why are you doing it?
