The problem is that not only is this not true, but the global population is shrinking. India, China, the US, and especially Europe and Scandinavia are all either barely at or far below replacement population levels.
The whole "6 billionth person" that was handed out a little while ago is quite probably just a PR move for the population "control" movement.
