If I could read, I'd read 1984. Doesn't it have two way television? And isn't two way television bad? I can't wait to get my own cable modem!
Could somebody post a shorter version of that story. Just way to much to read.
Want people to think you are really crazy? Tell them that the reconstructed TWA 800 isn't the same plane that crashed. Then back it up with lots of documentation. They will think you are "way gone man".
Want to know what makes me upset about all this? The newcomers!
I want to see a South Park episode where the kids meet the ghost of Lenny Bruce. He was in trouble for doing this kind of comedy in nightclubs. Now it's all over TV.
Maybe they are after that part of the market that can't or won't buy a computer because of cost.
Or maybe they are after people who want a 3rd or 4th computer for little Johnny to use.
This kind of thing would be great for someone like my wife. She wouldn't know any different.
I hope they sell a ton of them. If they are upgradeable, I'll buy a used one for $50 a year from now. Or would that be too much?
Ramblings past this point.
Back in 1985 I bought a full TRS80 model 1 for $50. Expansion box and 2 drives. Just because I could. Sold it for $100. Probably a $5000 machine when new.
I'll need a cable modem so I can be connected 24/7 and disk space to hold the information I collect.
Like yesterday, I read speculation about why we bombed the crap out of Serbia. I started running searches for background material. Would love to automate that kind of thing.

Have a great day kids!
Now go back to sleep.
YOU GET WHAT YOU ACCEPT.
I guess this makes Matt Drudge
a journalist.
He started life in the news groups.
Now there are rumors his radio show
will be syndicated.
shouldn't the ADM people be
upset? or are they out of
business
looks like an old dumb terminal to me

It would be funny.
Here is a free windows web server.

I've got a copy waiting for the day I get
DSL/cable modem.
Want to do something lots of people
won't like? Find something similiar that
people will like.
Start taking away property from drug dealers
before they go to trial. The people will yell
"yeah get em, those sorry bastards are killing our kids!".
Wait a few years, start taking property for other
reasons. Ooops, to late to complain. You asked
for it!
Bring lawsuits against tobacco companies. If that
works, go after other industries.
This crap works people. It's just easy meat.
The genetics boys will get there first.
Don't forget about Nixon.
He opened up China in the first place.
And another thing, don't think it's bad
for China to have our technology. Would
you want to be guessing about what they
have?
I once knew a brilliant man from
Malaysia. He had two very simple
sayings.
"Bottom line"
"What ever it takes"
Sounds like you work for somebody like
this.
Congratulations!
Last Tuesday was my 21st aniversary.
Larry asked me "what are you going to do with
it?".
I just said, "learn how to use it.".
Don't know what I'd be doing today if I
hadn't.
It's been fun.

Glad I'm not the only one that
likes to jack with telemarketers!
Get them off the script, ask odd
questions that have nothing to do with
the product or service. It's loads of
fun if I have time to do it.
Finally I tell them they should hang up
on people like me.

Any of you write BeOS applications?
Since this machine doesn't have a CD or
floppy, it would be ripe for internet
delivered software.
But, how large are BeOS apps? Will the 2.x
gig hard drive be large enough?
I'm just full of questions.
My son told me about listening
to phone calls on the upper
channels of UHF. He probably
read about it on the Pesky Internet.
We have tried it several times. It does
work.
Which is faster/cheaper?
Will I ever get either one?
Can I stay connected 24/7 with DSL?
cable modems are alleged to be able to
let me do this
I knew it!
Who else out there thinks
there will be one huge company
someday?
GlobalCo or some such nonsense.
St. Tesla the enabler
Soak it in mineral oil ;)
Anybody else start life with
a TRS 80 and a tape recorder?
I could use that space when I get
a cable modem.
