    If I could read, I'd read 1984. Doesn't it
    have two way television? And isn't two way
    television bad? I can't wait to get my own
    cable modem!

    Could somebody post a shorter version of that
    story. Just way to much to read.

    Want people to think you are really crazy?
    Tell them that the reconstructed TWA 800 isn't
    the same plane that crashed. Then back it up
    with lots of documentation. They will think you
    are "way gone man".

    Want to know what makes me upset about all this?

    ghost of Lenny Bruce. He was in
    trouble for doing this kind of
    comedy in nightclubs. Now it's

    for it!

    Bring lawsuits against tobacco companies. If that
    works, go after other industries.

    Last Tuesday was my 21st aniversary.

    Larry asked me "what are you going to do with
    it?".

    I just said, "learn how to use it.".

    Don't know what I'd be doing today if I
    hadn't.

    Maybe they are after that part of the
    market that can't or won't buy a computer
    because of cost.

    Or maybe they are after people who want a
    3rd or 4th computer for little Johnny to
    use.

    This kind of thing would be great for someone
    like my wife. She wouldn't know any different.

    I hope they sell a ton of them. If they are
    upgradeable, I'll buy a used one for $50 a
    year from now. Or would that be too much?

    Ramblings past this point.

    Back in 1985 I bought a full TRS80 model 1 for
    $50. Expansion box and 2 drives. Just because
    I could. Sold it for $100. Probably a $5000
    machine when new.

    Glad I'm not the only one that
    likes to jack with telemarketers!

    Get them off the script, ask odd
    questions that have nothing to do with
    the product or service. It's loads of
    fun if I have time to do it.

    Finally I tell them they should hang up
    on people like me.

    Since this machine doesn't have a CD or
    floppy, it would be ripe for internet
    delivered software.

    But, how large are BeOS apps? Will the 2.x
    gig hard drive be large enough?

    I'm just full of questions.

    I could use that space when I get
    a cable modem.

    I want to automate my web research.

    I'll need a cable modem so I can be connected
    24/7 and disk space to hold the information
    I collect.

    Like yesterday, I read speculation about why
    we bombed the crap out of Serbia. I started running searches for background material. Would
    love to automate that kind of thing.

    Someday.
