Was the invention of power steering an affront to your rights? Power brakes? This is simply a further abstraction of driving (admittedly a huge one). You're being a bit melodramatic.
That's funny, because no one forces anyone to install and use an ad blocker
Shine blocks ads at the network level - individual users couldn't opt out, even if they wanted to. This is different than adblocking browser extensions, in that users are forced into it.
Not that I'm against it. I use a similar system on my home network, and love it.
Encryption will always be possible, so that is certainly not a 'concession'. Also, 'unprecedented' is a perfectly relevant word, considering the very reason that the FBI is pursuing this case is for legal precedent.
Animated 'corner ads' have been creeping in for the last few years. They certainly are distracting, and consuming more screen real estate as time goes by.
I love me some SomaFM! I was late to the game, discovering it only last year upon installing RadioTray (Linux). I've been hooked on Groove Salad ever since, abd I don't even consider myself a fan of electronic music. But it's perfect as background music on tinny speakers.
Maybe because terrorists represent a vanishingly small percentage of the overall population. In other words, they're not everywhere and out to get you. Tiger-repellant rocks, anyone?
*no idea
I've used Mint for years and I have idea what you're on about.
This was the funniest thing I read all day. It struck me just right.

DNS server.
Got a link? I see nothing in TFA about that.

It's a pretty pedantic crowd.
We can agree on that one...

This case doesn't involve The Home Depot.
All sides, huh? What deep, unprecedented concessions is the federal government willing to make to solve this 'problem'?
This isn't a new 'problem', as the government would have us believe. There is no sudden urgency, save that on the part of the FBI.
Pretending that humans have evolved dramatically in that time is also a boner move.
Sorry for your friends' losses, but the animated ones are far worse - some of them even have sound!

That was my first. Learned about winmodems that year.
Non-Facebook users' browsers.
There are probably one or two now.
Comcast is publicly traded.
There goes that idealistic theory...
Just like that, huh?

Not sure how or why I misspelled qwerty.
It's just a variation of 'querty'.
Most readers here understood what s/he meant.
