Let's say that/. doesn't do the mirroring, but instead/. allows me (and anyone else) to easily post a URL where we've mirrored a site. Something like "I've mirrored site X -- It'll be mirrored until ". Then anyone who wants to take on the legal responisbility for themselves could act as a mirror./. would only provide the links.
This can be done manually right now, but what if it were built into the software. Would/. be liable for anything?
Agreed. Geat work. But point of clarification. When I change the threshold, am I changing one global setting (for me). Does it go out of scope when I leave the site? The story? Or is it equivalent to changing my preferences? It'd be nice to have the "on-the-fly" widgets change settings for just this topic. That way, I can crank my threshold way up or down depending on how many folks have responded.
Also enconuntered a bug:
Error:Undefined subroutine &Slash::selectStories called at (eval 317) line 16.
I was viewing this page, set my threshold to +2, and then clicked on the BACK button (using Netscape).

...and there seems to be no front end for it. You can't go to rs.internic.net/whois/ (or some equivalent page) and type the domain name into a box.
And you can set Slashdot, Freshmeat, I Cringely, *and* User Friendly as your startup page.
