    I am 2 months away from the end of my 30th year as an independent contractor. Over the years, I have worked with different languages and tech. in different fields/markets.

    The basic issue is learn something new every 6 months. And stay on top of where tech. is going.

    Also, it does not hurt to love what you do ;) I have been fishing every day of the week for 30 years. I am 62 and I am never going to retire, heck may as well get paid to fish ;)

    Suck, I don't live in the home market for my team. And if the home market gets to watch their team at home. The punishment is that if the first and second games are on the same network. Game 2 is blacked out!!!!

    I used to care, even had NFL ticket on direct TV for a few years. But they blacked out games also.

    Frak!! the bunch of American hating million and billionaires. They dislike their customers, I have moved on.

    I agree with those who say launch something useful.

    So a tesla weights 1.4 tons, how about launching 1.4 tons of Ox, some type of fuel, Structural items, etc.

    Net Neutrality!!!! The Holy Grail, Oh my god we have to have it!!
    I feel this is about common carrier law legal liability isolation the phone companies got back in the day!!
    If they peek, route or tier the trial lawyers will carve them up, Maybe?
    Under common carrier, how can they peek and not be responsible for bad things.
    I think they feel they can do it, I am not a lawyer, but I think the system will teach them an expensive lesson!

    Just my 2 cents ;)

    One wonders how fast computers would be if they were not running other priority tasks at all times.

    I politely call this Tech Arrogance ;) You don't tell the Client, Customer or User "It is your fault, just cycle the power, adjust this, this and this, toggle this, change this each time this stuff happens ;)"

    Firefox is just a tool used for a task. Over the years it has been a good one. But when the tool becomes the task. If is no longer useful.

    I have learned may things over the years listening ;) You had your say, I had mine, time will tell ;)

    I was hit with an automatic update from firefox 56 32 bit which worked fine.
    Even thought updates were off I ended up with firefox 56 64 bit! A real PITA, lockups while using, heck it only started up every other time every time.
    While battling this crap, I made sure update was disabled!!! Now I have 57.0!!!!!
    What the heck are the shakers and movers at mozilla doing this is a cluster frak!

    Not completely Covered by FICA payments. Entitlements (SS, SS Disability, Medicare and Medicaid) are only partially funded by the funds paid in by tax payers.

    But due to the early years of payments when we had a real pyramid. Many paying, few collecting ( I think it was 16 to 1). But now the end of the surplus is in sight. The last numbers I saw we had 2 paying for each individual collecting.

    I think the problem date for SS/Medicare (which are what FICA is) is 2034. The other Entitlements (SS Disability and Medicad) never had any type of tax payer pay deductions. They were always funded by current year tax revenues.

    This is my 30th year, being a self employed contract programmer. Most everything is done remote from my home office or my office which is 2 miles from my house. I may stop by a local client once a week, other than that I am pretty much a recluse. My wife laughs at me because there have been weeks I have not gone anywhere ;)

    Being 62, I intend to be fishing everyday I can ;) after all! may as well get paid for fishing ;)

    Just wondering where the environmentalist are? And the environmental Impact studies that take years. The years of jumping through hoops to get government approval, etc etc, etc

    Or is the fact that (WunderKind) Elon Musk owns the company doing this, means that nothing harmful or bad could ever come out of this.

    Just to make it clear I am not against this, it just seems to be moving amazingly fast ;)
