Thank you very much for your post, and doing so in a very reasonable manner. I do have a lot of additional comments to make, which I hope would be useful to further the understanding of the issue, but before I do that there are two questions I'd like to ask:
In a philosophic sense, there really isn't anything wrong with preferring logic and intuition to empiricism, and so rejecting AGW on that basis.
This is a completely anti-scientific statement. This particular approach is how Classic Philosophers held back progress for two millenia. It is only when we stopped using axiomatic reasoning for empiricism that we gained enlightenment and have made huge progress ever since. Empiricism is the core of the Scientific Method. What I find interesting is that while doing my PhD in Physics I was never once explicitly taught the Scientific Method, it was only later that I looked it up and started understanding the Modern Philosophical basis of science - which is empiricism over axiomic reasoning. So I'd like to encourage you to look up the Scientific Method (eg. it could be a simple as reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...) and restate your position if you like. You see, if we don't accept empirical evidence as king then it is impossible to make any progress based in reality.
I should add, do you know that the RSS and UAH satellite data sets, as well as balloon observations of the Lower Troposphere all are diverging rapidly from the IPCC's prediction of the TLT (Tropical Lower Troposphere) ? that is to say, the skeptics are the ones with the data on their side. The IPCC made a specific prediction that the TLT would warm faster than the surface, this is the 'smoking gun' of AGW and yet not only was this not seen the opposite was seen. If you use the Scientific Method the IPCC's hypothesis must be rejected so it can be amended. The difference between prediction and observation is not small, it is around a factor of 3 - which even to an astrophysicist like me is a huge error.
My second question is about the empirical value of the TCS, which is around 1.5 at the moment and increasingly heading down. The IPCC-predicted TCS had a most probably value of around 3.2 and ranged from 1 to 9 (which really meant, 'it could be anything') although this value itself keeps getting revised progressively downward with each IPCC report (showing the earlier predictions were wrong). Do you agree with the empirically observed TCS and do you care to comment on the difference between the observed value and the massively higher simulated value ? This is the core of the difference between skeptics' and alarmists' positions, so I'd like to clarify your position on it since it was not addressed in your reply.

Hi, you seem to not understand the core science of the IPCC's position on Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW). Please allow me to explain we can have a proper debate. Ok ?
Doubling the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere increases global surface temperatures by 1.16 K. Everyone agrees on this, even the skeptics. Your argument seems to be that the skeptics don't understand this. They do, and they understand very, very well. There is a debate about the effective resident lifetime of CO2 is in the atmosphere. The IPCC believes it is effectively infinity, while the skeptics point out that plants are so starved for CO2 (we are not far off the conditions of CO2 starvation for plants where all plant life dies, since they evolved in an atmosphere of 2000 ppmV CO2) that they rapidly absorb human-emitted CO2 so the lifetime is certainly under 10 years and possibly as short as 10 months. We don't need to worry about resident lifetimes for the rest of my argument, I'm just bringing it up so you understand there is a point of debate about this, which does affect CAGW vs natural warming scenarios/
Ok, so CO2 has a warming of around 1.16 K per doubling of CO2 (we'll double CO2 concentrations when we run out of fossil fuels a century from now). There is no debate about this laboratory effect. What happens next is the point of difference between the IPCC/alarmists and the skeptics. The argument is that as CO2 causes this slow and very modest temperature rise then water vapor concentrations will increase. This water vapor concentration has an additional 'gain' effect which processes the Transient- and Equilibrium- Climate Sensitivity values (TCS, ECS). The debate is entirely about what the effect of water vapor (clouds have) on these sensitivities.
The IPCC believes (based on their computer simulations) the effect of water vapor is an multiplier of 3 to 9 increase of the effect of CO2. Hence they are extremely alarmed.
Meanwhile the skeptics believe the IPCC computer models are wrong (for numerous reasons, as someone who has written a lot of scientific software myself I can explain some of the pitfalls the IPCC's modellers have gotten into, and some have been honest enough to admit this to each other, as the 'Climategate' email leaks have shown).
Furthermore, the skeptics have looked at the observed Transient Climate Sensitivity value as determined by UAH and RSS satellite observations and seen that the factor that observations say should multiply the mild CO2 effect could be as high as 1.5, but as time goes on is trending towards zero or even slightly negative - that is, the complex effects of water vapor may work against the effects of CO2.
Following the Scientific Method we understand that the computer simulations used by the IPCC are not 'data' but are, in fact, considered 'hypothesis'. The satellite and balloon measurements are the observations that show reality, and the refute the CAGW hypothesis promoted by the IPCC.
In short, the skeptics' position is backed by the observational data and the computer simulations and hypothesis of the IPCC and the global warming alarmists is not. The Scientific Method requires us to reject the CAGW hypothesis based on the observations and accept the Null Hypothesis (humans are not the major contributor to global climate and the effect of increased CO2 is not catastrophic but mostly beneficial to plant growth and crop yields etc) instead.
The skeptics are right and the IPCC got it wrong. If the IPCC wants to claim it is doing 'science' then it MUST use the Scientific Method and reject its earlier hypothesis. But the IPCC is not doing this, because it is run by politicians and bureaucrats who are more interested in their political agenda than in the actual science (their idea was that CAGW was to be the cover to be used to push their political agenda, but they got the science wrong but don't want to back off the political agenda which they talk about here -.http://green-agenda.com).
Last year was very warm due to 'super El Nino' conditions. El Nino occurs every 4 years or so, and is then followed by La Nina conditions which are usually very cold. This is probably why temperatures have plummeted so much that it snowed in the SAHARA yesterday. This is all natural fluctuations on top of the gradual rise that started 150 years ago at the end of the Little Ice Age (where solar magnetic activity started changing terrestrial cloud formation, see the work by Svensmark and Shaviv for example). A mere 2% increase in water vapor has the same effect as a 100% increase in CO2, water vapor really is the dominant 'greenhouse gas'.

With regard to the claim that the Arctic won't freeze I believe the people making the claims don't seem to understand that an El Nino often delays winter conditions by months, but when they do come and form La Nina conditions then they come with a vengeance. The Right (at least in the US, but increasingly internationally) is all about Individual Liberty. Since there can be no Individual Liberty without decreasing State power it means the Right is about limiting the power of government and letting citizens and the Free Market of voluntary exchange work out solutions. This is because power (the ability to enforce your will on the unwilling) is a zero sum game - the State only gets power by taking it from individuals, and vice versa
Of course there is a consensus that all States now require governments that can use force and coercion to take the wealth of the citizens. In this sense there is a "Uniparty" where political parties clothe themselves in the rhetoric of "Left" and "Right" but the implementations always require more taxation and more power for the State - which means the Uniparty has been drifting further and further Left. To dissent with this and assert citizens should be in charge is labelled "extreme".
What is considered "extreme" merely reflects what is outside of the fashions of the self-selection sociopaths who are the State (the State is an abstract entity, what the term actually means is the group of sociopathic 'elites' who claim the mantle of "State" to impose their will on others). The divergence between what the 'elites' (and their media sychophants) consider "extreme" and the bulk of the citizenry consider "extreme" has been increasing rapidly as the State moves further and further to the Left (Big State solutions). To the 'elites' and media who consider themselves to have transcended such things as family, borders, traditional culture, conventional morality, national sovereignty anyone who believes in these things is "extreme" - but only of they are Westerners. Any other nationality wanting these this is considered normal, just not for Westerners.
Hence we have the phenomena of Brexit and the latest US Presidential election where the 'elites' and media have views vastly different from those of the general population. What the elites consider normal and desirable (dissolution of nation states and creation of a single World government which pushes their agenda) is considered "extreme" by at least 160 million Americans, and conversely the media and 'elites' consider the desire for preservation of national sovereignty and individual choice that dissents from the elite's views to be "extreme". As always it is simply a matter of perspective.
Is the West being propagandized? yes, massively. Western media's best and most subtle propaganda technique is not in telling direct falsehoods, although that has become increasingly common, but more in what facts they choose to omit, They include any facts that follow their chosen 'Narrative' and leave out any facts that would shred that Narrative. Hence, reasonable people who don't check all points of view based their conclusions on half the facts and end up believing the media perspective (the perspective of the ruling 'elites'). Those that read more widely or have alternative sources of information that give more of the facts end up with different conclusions - mostly against the memes of the media and 'elites'. Once you understand that the propaganda comes through what is chosen to be talked about and more importantly what is not said, then you see an extremely consistent pattern - which means this is deliberate. Unfortunately this is invisible to most people, so they end up adopting the media and globalist positions very stridently and attack their fellow citizens, when it is the latter that is in possession of the more relevant facts.

Actually i think the problem is the same but the solution is achieved in the reverse order. The corporations only bother to bribe the politicians because the politicians have too much power and take too much tax. Thank you very much for your post, and doing so in a very reasonable manner. I do have a lot of additional comments to make, which I hope would be useful to further the understanding of the issue, but before I do that there are two questions I'd like to ask:
In a philosophic sense, there really isn't anything wrong with preferring logic and intuition to empiricism, and so rejecting AGW on that basis.
This is a completely anti-scientific statement. This particular approach is how Classic Philosophers held back progress for two millenia. It is only when we stopped using axiomatic reasoning for empiricism that we gained enlightenment and have made huge progress ever since. Empiricism is the core of the Scientific Method. What I find interesting is that while doing my PhD in Physics I was never once explicitly taught the Scientific Method, it was only later that I looked it up and started understanding the Modern Philosophical basis of science - which is empiricism over axiomic reasoning. So I'd like to encourage you to look up the Scientific Method (eg. it could be a simple as reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...) and restate your position if you like. You see, if we don't accept empirical evidence as king then it is impossible to make any progress based in reality.
I should add, do you know that the RSS and UAH satellite data sets, as well as balloon observations of the Lower Troposphere all are diverging rapidly from the IPCC's prediction of the TLT (Tropical Lower Troposphere) ? that is to say, the skeptics are the ones with the data on their side. The IPCC made a specific prediction that the TLT would warm faster than the surface, this is the 'smoking gun' of AGW and yet not only was this not seen the opposite was seen. If you use the Scientific Method the IPCC's hypothesis must be rejected so it can be amended. The difference between prediction and observation is not small, it is around a factor of 3 - which even to an astrophysicist like me is a huge error.
My second question is about the empirical value of the TCS, which is around 1.5 at the moment and increasingly heading down. The IPCC-predicted TCS had a most probably value of around 3.2 and ranged from 1 to 9 (which really meant, 'it could be anything') although this value itself keeps getting revised progressively downward with each IPCC report (showing the earlier predictions were wrong). Do you agree with the empirically observed TCS and do you care to comment on the difference between the observed value and the massively higher simulated value ? This is the core of the difference between skeptics' and alarmists' positions, so I'd like to clarify your position on it since it was not addressed in your reply.

Hi, you seem to not understand the core science of the IPCC's position on Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW). Please allow me to explain we can have a proper debate. Ok ?
Doubling the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere increases global surface temperatures by 1.16 K. Everyone agrees on this, even the skeptics. Your argument seems to be that the skeptics don't understand this. They do, and they understand very, very well. There is a debate about the effective resident lifetime of CO2 is in the atmosphere. The IPCC believes it is effectively infinity, while the skeptics point out that plants are so starved for CO2 (we are not far off the conditions of CO2 starvation for plants where all plant life dies, since they evolved in an atmosphere of 2000 ppmV CO2) that they rapidly absorb human-emitted CO2 so the lifetime is certainly under 10 years and possibly as short as 10 months. We don't need to worry about resident lifetimes for the rest of my argument, I'm just bringing it up so you understand there is a point of debate about this, which does affect CAGW vs natural warming scenarios/
Ok, so CO2 has a warming of around 1.16 K per doubling of CO2 (we'll double CO2 concentrations when we run out of fossil fuels a century from now). There is no debate about this laboratory effect. What happens next is the point of difference between the IPCC/alarmists and the skeptics. The argument is that as CO2 causes this slow and very modest temperature rise then water vapor concentrations will increase. This water vapor concentration has an additional 'gain' effect which processes the Transient- and Equilibrium- Climate Sensitivity values (TCS, ECS). The debate is entirely about what the effect of water vapor (clouds have) on these sensitivities.
The IPCC believes (based on their computer simulations) the effect of water vapor is an multiplier of 3 to 9 increase of the effect of CO2. Hence they are extremely alarmed.
Meanwhile the skeptics believe the IPCC computer models are wrong (for numerous reasons, as someone who has written a lot of scientific software myself I can explain some of the pitfalls the IPCC's modellers have gotten into, and some have been honest enough to admit this to each other, as the 'Climategate' email leaks have shown).
Furthermore, the skeptics have looked at the observed Transient Climate Sensitivity value as determined by UAH and RSS satellite observations and seen that the factor that observations say should multiply the mild CO2 effect could be as high as 1.5, but as time goes on is trending towards zero or even slightly negative - that is, the complex effects of water vapor may work against the effects of CO2.
Following the Scientific Method we understand that the computer simulations used by the IPCC are not 'data' but are, in fact, considered 'hypothesis'. The satellite and balloon measurements are the observations that show reality, and the refute the CAGW hypothesis promoted by the IPCC.
In short, the skeptics' position is backed by the observational data and the computer simulations and hypothesis of the IPCC and the global warming alarmists is not. The Scientific Method requires us to reject the CAGW hypothesis based on the observations and accept the Null Hypothesis (humans are not the major contributor to global climate and the effect of increased CO2 is not catastrophic but mostly beneficial to plant growth and crop yields etc) instead.
The skeptics are right and the IPCC got it wrong. If the IPCC wants to claim it is doing 'science' then it MUST use the Scientific Method and reject its earlier hypothesis. But the IPCC is not doing this, because it is run by politicians and bureaucrats who are more interested in their political agenda than in the actual science (their idea was that CAGW was to be the cover to be used to push their political agenda, but they got the science wrong but don't want to back off the political agenda which they talk about here -.http://green-agenda.com).

Last year was very warm due to 'super El Nino' conditions. El Nino occurs every 4 years or so, and is then followed by La Nina conditions which are usually very cold. This is probably why temperatures have plummeted so much that it snowed in the SAHARA yesterday. This is all natural fluctuations on top of the gradual rise that started 150 years ago at the end of the Little Ice Age (where solar magnetic activity started changing terrestrial cloud formation, see the work by Svensmark and Shaviv for example). A mere 2% increase in water vapor has the same effect as a 100% increase in CO2, water vapor really is the dominant 'greenhouse gas'.

The arms coming via Benghazi, as well as the $11 Billion of arms the Obama Administration sold to Qatar went to groups like Al Nura (AL Qaeda in Syria), Muslim Brotherhood groups, and eventually to the Islamic State. Arms also sent to Lebanon are used to equip Hezbollah.
A proper investigation of the activities in Benghazi, which was highlighted by the disgraceful lack of leadership and outright lying about the cause of the attack, would have exposed the Obama/Clinton policy of arming violent jihadis with Billions of dollars of arms.

The Right (at least in the US, but increasingly internationally) is all about Individual Liberty. Since there can be no Individual Liberty without decreasing State power it means the Right is about limiting the power of government and letting citizens and the Free Market of voluntary exchange work out solutions. This is because power (the ability to enforce your will on the unwilling) is a zero sum game - the State only gets power by taking it from individuals, and vice versa
Of course there is a consensus that all States now require governments that can use force and coercion to take the wealth of the citizens. In this sense there is a "Uniparty" where political parties clothe themselves in the rhetoric of "Left" and "Right" but the implementations always require more taxation and more power for the State - which means the Uniparty has been drifting further and further Left. To dissent with this and assert citizens should be in charge is labelled "extreme".
What is considered "extreme" merely reflects what is outside of the fashions of the self-selection sociopaths who are the State (the State is an abstract entity, what the term actually means is the group of sociopathic 'elites' who claim the mantle of "State" to impose their will on others). The divergence between what the 'elites' (and their media sychophants) consider "extreme" and the bulk of the citizenry consider "extreme" has been increasing rapidly as the State moves further and further to the Left (Big State solutions). To the 'elites' and media who consider themselves to have transcended such things as family, borders, traditional culture, conventional morality, national sovereignty anyone who believes in these things is "extreme" - but only of they are Westerners. Any other nationality wanting these this is considered normal, just not for Westerners.
Hence we have the phenomena of Brexit and the latest US Presidential election where the 'elites' and media have views vastly different from those of the general population. What the elites consider normal and desirable (dissolution of nation states and creation of a single World government which pushes their agenda) is considered "extreme" by at least 160 million Americans, and conversely the media and 'elites' consider the desire for preservation of national sovereignty and individual choice that dissents from the elite's views to be "extreme". As always it is simply a matter of perspective.
Is the West being propagandized? yes, massively. Western media's best and most subtle propaganda technique is not in telling direct falsehoods, although that has become increasingly common, but more in what facts they choose to omit, They include any facts that follow their chosen 'Narrative' and leave out any facts that would shred that Narrative. Hence, reasonable people who don't check all points of view based their conclusions on half the facts and end up believing the media perspective (the perspective of the ruling 'elites'). Those that read more widely or have alternative sources of information that give more of the facts end up with different conclusions - mostly against the memes of the media and 'elites'. Once you understand that the propaganda comes through what is chosen to be talked about and more importantly what is not said, then you see an extremely consistent pattern - which means this is deliberate. Unfortunately this is invisible to most people, so they end up adopting the media and globalist positions very stridently and attack their fellow citizens, when it is the latter that is in possession of the more relevant facts.

Actually i think the problem is the same but the solution is achieved in the reverse order. The corporations only bother to bribe the politicians because the politicians have too much power and take too much tax. If an actual Limited Government is installed, as was intended, and it restricts itself to ensuring there is competition and NOT handing out tax money to the biggest donors then the problem will solve itself automagically. Note: the government uses corporations as scapegoats for its own corruption and failures.
If you attack the corporations without decreasing the power of the Government all you get is more Government (socialism/fascism/communism). But if you limit the Government FIRST then the corporations can't use government power and can't pillage tax dollars when a small government is not collecting them. In short, the Government should shrink to 'fit in the box it came in'. No more $4 Trillion dollar expenditures to fund the vote-bribe system the government runs (and the corporations exploit).
