The State of Maine has a program that gives EVERY 7th and 8th Grader an Apple Laptop. This started full force in Sept 2002. So far, this has been a success. See the State site here:
Heck, all we need is "Flubber" Flying Rubber to power the car. Some of you may remember Fred MacMurray as "The Absent Minded Professor" from 1961. Cool film and I've dreamed about it for years! The 1997 remake with Robin Williams was NOT as good.
I agree, pair.com moved their data center on December 6th and did a GREAT job with few problems.
They informed everyone in October, They had an ongoing update served from a different location to keep everyone updated and in 2-4 hour intervals posted progress reports. Yes, they had problems with certain providers like Savvis for a while. but they kept everyone informed and replied to me personally when I pointed out the Savvis problem.

I have found them to be very reliable for the past 3 years that I have used them. Highly Recommended.
...and you don't allow marketing to sell to any more customers. Thats right, you refuse to allow more onto the system. Marketing can deal with this if you make them,...
This reminds me of the IBM TV commercial where Bob is at an AA like meeting..."No one here is stupid"... Then Bob tells them that he forgot to tell his staff to ramp up the website for more hits because of their new PR. Then they all turn on Bob... "That WAS stupid, Bob."
In addition to what zope.org offers, the developers of zope, at digicool.com have a full object oriented database formerly named Tabula and now named "ZTables". It's currently "commercial" but sometime "soon" it is expected to become "open source" like Zope.
I recently considered purchase of a Laptop for a Client and have purchased Micron in the past. OK. One MUST take MS OFFICE as part of the package. Yes, you can select to NOT get it but there is NO cost savings on this $400. product!
Sounds like MS MoneyPoly to me!
This client is a Word Perfect fan and didn't want MS Office. Check out the Micron Website http://www.micron-pc.com I also confirmed this with a salesperson.

My Kids will be in the 7th Grade next month
so I will know more then. In the mean time,
they've been using computers at home for
years.

Please help me understand:
"...Another strength of NetWare 5 is NetWare Directory Services (NDS) version 8, which plays a lead role in the NetWare 5 success story..."
"...Windows 2000 (NT 5) will include Active Directory, Microsoft's version..."
*** So, what does Linux have to compete with these
directory services?
Novel Claims it's directory holds a Billion Objects, and Micro$oft seven million objects, ***What about Linux?
