    I've always wondered why they couldn't an episode from the perspective of another race. Why not have a Series hosted by, or from the perspective of Q. Since he's Since he's all-knowing, He could just focus on any race, any where, and at any time. He could show how the romulan empire came to be. Or how 19th century earth nearly avoided a catastrophy thanks to the vulcans. Or what about an episode on some of the dirty things, that Section 31 has done that no one knows about. Has anyone thought about such an idea? If paramount is reading this, You have my permision to use these ideas.

    Some naming conventions I've seen:

    1. Star Trek: TNG. eg. Mail server is called Guinan.
    2. The solar System: Earth, Venus, jupiter, Mars, etc. (dunno, specific functions.)
    3. South Park.
    4. Different model Cars. eg. Viper, Dual PIII Work station.
    5. Naming after kids... (boring unless, its your kids.)

    ... I can imagine what will happen if init decides to attack you and you kill it in a reflex instead of running off ;-)) 'Nasty' part is that only your pids seem to be listed in the game so you'd better know what you're blasting at.

    Yeah, I'm imagining init to be that creature on level 30 of doom2, the one built into the wall that lauches all the other ones.

    I'm running unstable, on my home, box and I love it! Although, I've had problems where the package manager doesn't check dependecies or paticular packages can't be removed for some reason.
    But otherwise, for me it's been pleasant.

    I think it's time to include the Standard Disclaimer:

    Do_not_run the unstable distro unless you're comfortable trouble-shooting problems.

    Also, there are daily updates, if you're a modem user, I suggest you stay away, unless you like waiting for long downloads....

    If MS were involved in this, I doubt it would be Netscape shipping on those Quest CD's... I think Quest is just catering to what they think is the largest installed userbase. Ask if they have a Mac version of the software, if not, the politely tell them that You cannot use they're service until a version for you favorite platform is available. Then watch how quickly they react....

    If these machines are priced similarly, to Intel's offerings, then I would buy one....

    Another benefit is that you get a Factory assembled Machine without paying the MS Tax.

    well, if you add a newer version of KDE and recompile it with an experimental and potentially buggy version of gcc it becomes something very different :)

    I've been trying to get in touch with a human being over there for the last trhee days; because I was charged, but I never got my card!

    Anyone here already got theirs? I ordered the the Ultra w/TV-out (no dvd).

    Damn, I'll have to get touch with Visa....

    I'm surprised no one has mentioned an EM Pulse.

    btw, is such a thing possible? That's how they managed to get the soldiers from the Toy Soldiers movie. It was also used in one of the last few scenes in the MaTriX.

    I imagine that adequate Sheilding would be crucal when you let off with this bad-boy...

    ...Considering that every other Major Unix vendor has anounced something involving linux. Be it opening the source to some module or anouncing that they "support" Linux.

    SCO changed their tune pretty quick. I was thinking that when they're on the virge of going under, thats when they would do something like this.

    How long do you think it will take for XFS to become a standard in the Linux community? Anyone?

    Dunno, but as long as there aren't any funky restrictions then I would imagine that XFS will become a standard very quickly.

    Personally, I'd reformat my Debian Potato Install for this. Anyone (in the know) care to comment on when we'll see XFS in a Kernel tarball?
