but they're wicked hard to write, and doing so would take so much time. But no one has a patent on a "left outer join" yet so I'll just describe the idea, whip up some bullshit examples of what the code might look like if I ever got around to writing it, and as soon as I get Pending status I'll send out dozens of letters demanding millions in licensing fees to companies like Oracle, IBM, and Microsloth. Then it's off to the Carribean for early retirement.
In his attempts to get Deep Blue "out of the book" Kasparov made some very twisted transpositions of standard openings, including the ridiculous looking rook pawn for opening move (or was it knight pawn.... same diff). The net result was that Gary outsmarted himself.
Since opening play is the most analyzed aspect of the game, it would make more sense to save the variations for the early middle game.
I'm not going to debate whether global warming exists or not, or whether actions by mankind can accelerate it or delay it. But I totally disagree that it will become an issue of any significance in US politics.
What events could make people vote based on this issue? First, a strong perception that we are 'going to hell in a handbasket' This does not exist now, whatever the polls show, and probably will not ever occur, even if the predicted temperature changes occur. A half-degree per century isn't going to turn a lot of heads.
Second, trade pressure from other nations. U.S. citizens have never voted out of fear of reprisals from abroad. I doubt they ever will.
My own position is "what's the worst that could happen?" I don't expect everyone else to agree, but I don't see what's so bad about losing a few hundred square miles of coastland per decade, or drinking a bit more lemonade.
Americans tend to react negatively to trade sanctions pointed at us, so that will not
It appeared in an early episode in which Homer gives Lisa her saxophone, or rather replaces the one that was crushed. The inscription on the horn says "D'oh!"
The show itself is the final word on this. End of argument.
I've heard this idea before, and always fails to impress me... that if devices learn our tastes they will provide useful services like suggesting dining spots, hotels, etc.
This Amazon.com approach to filling your life with more of the same is totally not what people want, it is what the gee-whiz prognosticators think people will want. They're full of it.
If I'm in Chicago and I like Chinese food, I can do a simple search and find a list of restaurants in very little time, without anything profiling my tastes and "predicting" what I will want.
Yet another cousin of Clippy and MS Bob, if you ask me. Blow it out yer A-'OLe
I mean come on, it's a movie about a pre-industrial society. Not all reviews are unworthy of./ discussion, but if it has nothing to do with modern times, don't even bother us...
Trying to convince people that there is a scientific decision being made every time a moronic character pops up to offer unwanted help is a LAME LAME LAME LAME LAME load of self-serving horse shit.
What's next, a statement to the effect that the clunky oversized control bars that consume half the usable window space are based on a well-thought out Kantian world-view?
Get real! Son-of-Bob must die!!!!!!!!!!
With hard-liners in power in the US and the PRC, a major offensive to "unify" the mainland and its estranged cousin is more likely than ever.
Add to the mix: (1) the cockiness that China feels after this minor 'success', (2) isolationism on the part of the European powers, which will also sideline Australia (they'll do what the Commonwealth does), and (3) the lack of any real Japanese military presence anywhere, and it appears to me VERY likely that in the next decade China will either invade Taiwan or at least assist sympathetic residents in a coup attempt.
The US will be the only player committed to helping the nationalist government of Taiwan, and it won't be a walk in the desert either.
It doesn't orbit in the planetary plane, it is insignificant in size, and it is generally accepted that Pluto is merely the innermost of the Oort cloud objects.
There is absolutely no scientific value of sending a probe to Pluto, except to say "Gee, aren't we good at expending rocket fuel."
I'm perfectly OK with the
fact
that there are only eight planets in the Solar System.
Sony amps are high quality with good features. As for speakers, I have had excellent experiences with Cambridge Soundworks' Ensemble systems. imho they give you the biggest bang for your buck.
2.) FTL - moving faster than 3E8 m/s. Faster than COM3 ???

Lisa's saxophone has an inscription from Homer that includes the word "D'oh!". Also, the afore-mentioned episode title. Proof positive.
It appeared in an early episode in which Homer gives Lisa her saxophone, or rather replaces the one that was crushed. The inscription on the horn says "D'oh!" The show itself is the final word on this. End of argument.

ooops.... I only got implied verbal consent to record the RedSox game, not express written consent. I think I'm heading for a penance race.
