To say nothing of remunerating females MORE than males for the same job and WITH the blessing of the government-appointed Sex Discrimination Commissioner.
femtobyte's response to your comment has prompted me to ask whether or not you are aware of the growing Men's Rights Movement (MRM)?
It's definitely something you should learn about.
- Did you know that despite men having shorter life expectancies, more is spent on women's health?
- Did you know that over 80% of workplace deaths are male?
- Did you know that men work longer hours than women and take fewer sick days?
- Did you know that males are the overwhelming victims of assaults and violence?

Of course, these are just a very small handful of accounts to get you started.
Now, I will readily admit that women face discrimination in society; only a fool would deny this. However what the Men's Rights Movement is attempting to do is raise awareness of the significant discrimination that men and boys confront; something about which not many people know about.
But as long as they break what used to work they're wishful if they think I'll be "upgrading".
And from the sounds of it, they've alienated a lot of techies out there.
Here's another reason why Microsoft should have retained the Win 7 interface in Win 8:
-> the torrent of complaints of people (read: consumers) wishing for this
I include myself in that pool.
Come January 2015, when mainstream support of Win 7 ends, I will give serious consideration to making Linux the host, and Windows the guest. (It's currently the other way around.)
Microsoft is deliberately shooting themselves in the foot; they deserve the consequences.
Irrespective of what they *claim* they're entitled to do, in practice I'm sure they capture all the data that they can, all the time, and in all locations. Borders be damned.
Well, the defence forces are just instruments of our government and so - either directly or indirectly - subject to the same lobby group pressures as other government bodies.
Indeed: 20 jobs where women earn more than men

And let's not forget, when using an SSD on a laptop the UPS is "built-in".
Speculation here: I suspect it'll have to be out before the end of 2014.
Mainstream support for Win 7 ends in January 2015, so Win 9 will need to be out long enough for businesses to consider it an option to migrate to.
Heh heh; I love the contrast between points (5) and (6) in terms of saving time: Microsoft giveth, and Microsoft taketh.
Agreed. I'd upgrade in a heart-beat.

And providing the traditional UI as an option would have blown Microsoft's multi-billion dollar Windows budget ?

Agree that love is (should) be a huge aspect of our lives. The absence of love is quite horrible. (Can be quite hellish, in fact.)

Given the level of maturity on Slashdot, I'm afraid at the impending onslaught of bad puns.
You could say I'm petrified at the impending Stone Age jokes.
