Gah, the worst part of a new project is the security review. List the many, many potential problems.... "But that really won't happen, right?" "We can fix that later." And as you said, "That costs too much." and etc until the end of time, just so it's cheaper, done faster, and more convenient for the bosses. And apparently risk analysis is always 'too picky.'
I think they came up with a new term for flowchart because "flowchart" sounded to archaic. It's basically the same damn thing, but with buzzwords. Things like 'bond graphs.'
It was a fad/meme here a while back. For some reason various people made it a cause to have citizens of the United States be called USians, because "Americans" should include everyone in both North and South America. Didn't last long, but it was annoying as there was at least one guy running through articles replying with "Don't you mean you're a USian?" Kind of like the guy you're replying to.
1) The IT buildings were built before London got the Olympics? 2) What are you going to do with hotel rooms afterwards? Let random people sleep in your datacenter overnight? 3) It's cheaper. 4) It's only 4 weeks (figure week ramp up and cleanup).
1) Collusion- OK, that bad. 2) Publisher/seller model. Why couldn't the publishers sell the e-books (individual ID per copy) to the end sellers at a price, just like they do now for physical books. Then the end seller could decide on the end price. I admit I don't have any e-books, so I'm not conversant in this area.
If you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain afterwards. What's the phrase- "All it takes for evil to win is for good to do nothing" or something like that? Good job, by not voting, you're not even trying. And rather than thinking that let's you off the hook, it places you in the actively anti-good camp. But if it makes you feel good, feel free. Just don't come complaining for the next 4 years.
Reminds me of the Iomega Zip drive failure lawsuit (which I was part of). I got a $5 off coupon for a pack of Zip disks! Which cost like $20 back then, but woohoo me!
Or it could be like a place I lived at years ago, where they still had lead telephone wires. The techs always bitched about hurricane season (this was near the east coast shore) because of water leakage. Not sure how lead is worse than copper with water, but they told me it was.
You go around asking job applicants if they're pedophiles? Personally, if someone asked me that, I'd dump their coffee on their head and walk right out.

Hey, he could be correct, and I don't care because I'm not "conservative" in any way discussed. Also sad to see how all the comments basically digressed to broad stereotypes of one side calling the other "bad."/. really is becoming a crap pool of politics. Nearly ever article devolves into politics for some reason.
Are you also adverse to going to sporting events, too? Concerts, art showings, theatre also? Playing with children or pets, talking to people in real time? Watching anything in real time, perhaps? Or are scripted events the things you like to see/watch/experience? I hope that if you have or will have kids, you let them know how unimportant their sporting activities are that you can't bare to watch them.
My LG Blu-ray player does a very nice job on upscaling my DVDs, so I can see a small difference, but really not that much. But since I had/still have a lot of DVDs, I made sure to check reviews that mentioned how well the players upscaled. Of course, not all DVDs are created equal, and they would still look like crap if I had a Cray try to clean them up.
Worse is the billions of requests to join all the different games or silly groups that people use. I like my friends and all, but I can't figure out why they play Farmville (Farmtown?) and such.

I'm sure Mexicans would be especially happy to hear this. Mexico City: "Hola, fellow American!"

I was thinking "football," but that's a good one, too.
Hell, we hate most of our government and the blathering media, too.

I RTFA. The guy had several post-Christmas returns, which put him on the 'Watch List.' It wasn't his 1st return.

I found it really cool that she figured it out. Amazing how just a little thing like that can make such a big difference to someone else.

You don't find it disturbing that even testing that strategy is a first step?
Well if the school ran a network connection to his house that he used at 2:30 AM, sure.
It was their computer he was using at home at 2:30 AM? I'd say read the links (the top FA doesn't include that tidbit), but this is /.
I fucking agree with this comment 100 fucking %.
Only 1/2 hour. Not bad.

Simplifying a bit, maybe?
