If he had done a genuine strong glaswegian accent - it would have been counter-productive - most american audiences would probably require sub-titles. I'm Irish and I have dificulties understanding some scotch accents.
Yes, my machine does not like quicktime , my machine is perfectly stable with the exception of quicktime which manages to instantly blue-screen Windows.
Long term use of sulpher damages the emision levels of engines. Where I live (Dublin, Ireland) our state-owned bus service used to import High-Sulpher diesel from the USSR. The sulpher built up deposits on the fuel injectors which resulted in poor combustion. Every time the bus driver put his foot down you could see a thick black cloud of smoke coming out the exaust pipe (which was for some reason facing out the side of the bus towards the sidewalk- a bus coudl easily leave you choking if it pulled away beside you).
Are there that many PDP-10s still in use?

I work for a company in that (among other things) makes performance upgrades for pdp10/11's. I'm not involved in that area of the business but aparantly there is a big market in the former ussr for them (some element of their phone system seems to rely heavily on pdp's)
Ireland does not have extremely high normal tax levels, income tax maybe but corporations only care about corporation tax and that has been at 10% for years.
You have a massive choice of political parties because of proportional representation, labour(left),Fianna Fail(populist center ground), Fianna Gael (rightish), Progressive democrats (farther right), Green (leftie organic hippie party) + many smaller parties and independents. A party rarely gets a full majority so you are usually left with a coalition of two or more of these parties.
We don't forbid calculators in school, when I was in school (3 or 4 years ago) we were permitted to use them for all our subjects.
The vast majority of our citizens could barely string a scentence together in Irish. It is compulsory in school but all it ever did was create an antagonism towards the language and take up time better spent on other more useful languages (irish native speakers =20-40,000). We don't have great language ability (the dutch or germans are miles ahead of us in that department)Our great language advantage is that we speak english as our first language (an advantage for american investment) and that the only other english speaking country in europe (britain) has even worse language skills than we do.
A sysadmin strike would probably be vastly more crippleing and effective than a bunch of farmers throwing live sheep into a mcdonalds shouting "rosbif scum".
All they need to do is mail order the CD's from england. Eu sales taxes are enforced the oposite way around to American ones. Tax is paid in the country the product is shipped from not the one the consumer lives in. As long as they are not ordering vast quantities with intent to resell they will only get charged at the english rate.
My fathers car ( a second hand japanese import- ie it's spec is japanese home market) will not play most of my original cd's (most of them 2-3 years old) but it will play cdr copies of them.
Anyone know why?
You want an open source solutution? Make one!
If dell+M$ are developing a solution , why not develop one yourselves, set up an umbrella organisation and tendor for the contract aswell.
(just working from memory here) but I seem to remember in bill brysons "made in america" that Idaho is called Idaho because it sounded like "a good indian name" to somebody who was responsable for nameing it.
I got a pair of bose shelf speakers.
30w, decent quality, nothing to write home about but got them for nothing so I don't really have any grounds for complaint.
-NAD Amp , cos your hi-fi has got to have balls
Mitusbishi Lancer Evo VI (2.0L 280-330 bhp - depending on version)
Subaru Impreza turbo (2.0L 280bhp+)
Weighs much less than your V8 rust-magnet.
RWD vs FWD? Why bother with either when your can have 4WD with advanced traction control , ABS and all sort of other trickery (If americans took the same attitude to computers as cars we'd still be using tele-types.)
Weight - a small fraction (due to something called "materials technology").
Expense - not sure on American prices , but they are not all that expensive in my country and we tax the shit out of cars (21% sales tax + 26% 'Vehicle Registration Tax' (of the price + sales tax) = 151% of pre-tax price. around $30,000-$35,000 new.

yes and usually associate them with caller ID's
business's could be in favour of this from a getting support point of view. ie 'you fix my software or I cancel my $2000 a month subscription'
My family once recieved a letter sent to; 'mysirname' ,Ireland. We don't have a teribly common sirname but we were still quite impressed..
