    Lets put it this way: Sun clusters managed only to provide resilience for file and database sharing.

    If you wanted a resilient Samba or Apache, good luck, not supported. But you can write your own scripts to make use of the cluster infrastructure.

    The few companies that tried this needed even more expensive SAs.

    And is this company, that could not do an easy to administer cluster, the one that will virtualize SAs and OSs?

    Yesssss, sure.

    The situation is that one year after you have no more security and your rights are being eroded.

    Journalists in the US and in Europe have shown that all the security measures are bull, racial profiling is stupid, Iraq hates Muslim fundamentalists and OBL was finance with CIA money, etc., etc. etc.

    SO you are as likely as to be vaporized as before but you have lost freedom and a degree of dignity for not be willing to defend justice and democratic principles in the time they were tested.

    Fortunatley most /. get it. Others, sadly, choose to be blind.

    That would badly unbalance the comparision, because there is no similar entity in Europe (yet, when countries like Turkey or some former USSR republics join, there would be grounds for including all of NAFTA in comparisions of development).

    Unpleasent to use for who? For you? Fair enough. But that is not an objective measure.

    User interface design has techniques to invetigate if something is usable (not pretty of ugly: an interface, program or device could be "ugly" in aesthetic terms, according to some opinion, and yet be faultells and very useful from a usability point of view).

    To judge technical merit one has to use technical analysis, that includes usability. Pretty or ugly are not objective measures by any amount, any person choosing only based on that would be making a very uninformed decision.
