The likelihood of me being sued by SCO is next to zero as it is for every other Linux using company out there. When they sue RedHat, Suse, Mandrake, etc and win I'll be concerned. Until then I'm using Linux and smiling all the way to the bank. No BSA Audits, no pissed off former employees turning me in. I (my company) buy licenses for everything and audit my users systems internally, it is a violation of our policy to install illegal software, music, etc.. so they get a write up the first time, fired the next.
I let my employees have mp3's as long as they are on their computer (not shared) and they burn them from CDs they bring to work (they have to own them). For the most part this hasn't been a problem since there is very little time for music when you're working your ass off. I like to run my business like this > Work your ass off, then go home early. More productive in less hours == happy employees.
Seriously, I have 8 licenses and have never bought a retail copy. Plus I have an MSDN subscription (Universal) and can install each authenticated OS & piece of software 10 times.
I have never had the need to buy a copy of windows in a store.

Example: I was reading this article about SOHO (SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory) in my SOHO (Small Office Home Office) while this SOHO (SOrority wHOre) was blowing me.
You can also go work for a consulting firm and stay there until you are a manager/partner (Ernst & Young, PWC, KPMG, etc...). Once the right opportunity comes along take it. When I worked for a Big 5(?) firm (the one that no longer exists) almost 50% of our clients had one of their CIO/CEO/COO/CFO/CIO types from the firm. They work with you for years then trust you to the point to offer you the position when it's available. Since you generally know their business anyway it's an easy pick for them.
Good luck, consulting firms will run your ass in the ground before you get this opportunity.

By running as managed code (this is REAL.Net) it was 15% slower. By running non-managed (no CLR) it was full speed (or 15% faster than the managed.Net code).
VC++.Net is just the same as VC++ 6 with a different IDE as long as you're not using managed code. If you are using managed code you might as well program in VB or C#, it all compiles to the same shit.

If you select the proper tools and decide in the future linux isn't for you, just recompile and move on.
SCO will not affect linux at all. Hell my whole company runs on linux and I'm not switching a damn thing till something is proven.
