You can move between systems with no difficulties. That is why OS X is better than [insert window manager here]. My grandma can use OS X on any system she sits down at (same goes for Windows). Try to explain the merits of KDE over Gnome or Mandrake over Slackware. She doesn't give a rats ass. Apple runs Apple to her. When grandma can sit down at a purchased preinstalled linux box and it makes any kind of sense, I'll be the first to recommend it. Until then Linux is still the mixing pot of every stupid program out there. There is no reason I should need disk 3 of the redhat set to install xvim! 3 f'in disks. If bloatware Windows can still fit on 1 disk and OS X can fit on 2 disks what the hell is the problem with redhat?

Oh well I guess that's why I prefer slackware.

The best thing about OS X is the UNIX underbelly is hidden from the GUI. To get to it you must be in a terminal. 99% of OS X users probably don't even know it's there or what to do with it anyway.

It's stupid to assume that different cultures can solve problems the same way. I have friends from all over the world and everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. It's not racism to stereotype.

For example, my Asian friends (not born in America) have the most difficult time in Business Law (Legal Studies). This has nothing to do with intelligence or race. It has to do with the norms and mores of our society being learned from an early age. Laws are implemented and administered very differently in SE Asia than they are here. As a result all my Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and Philippine friends struggle to understand the way Business Law works.

It doesn't work that way unfortunately. You have to keep the whole 512MB stick charged to keep the ram stable for the OS. You cannot only keep part of the ram charged. The more ram you have the more charge it takes to keep the system up. Believe me, I have a dell inspiron 8100 with 2 slots and I have used it with 2 256mb chips and 1 256mb chip and the 1 chip config uses less power (15-20 minutes worth on a 2.5-3hour battery). So since I keep a watch on my ram usage in windows I rarely need more than 256mb anyway (384 is common in OS X on my mac). So when I need to go mobile I just pull out 1 chip. When i'm in desktop mode (AC Power) I pop it back in. 20 minutes makes a big difference when flying across the country and not wanting to be bored.
