HEY! I buy a bag of cheetos and eat them with chopsticks (living in China). It is the best way to eat a bag without getting your laptop keyboard , or anything, dirty with deadly cheeto residue.
yea my bosses were like the office space boss so in responise i had an office space moment and quit, trying to sell a 900$ set of knives to people who cant afford it is silly, let alone a 20$ knife,, but the spatula spreader does kick ass
protip: almost slice your finger off when doing a demo on a grapefruit with the carver u will get a sale, along with a scar
heh some of the pirates do know, i used to buy cds in front of this mc donalds where i live in china and they had some japanese music, crappy usa pop music and all of a sudden they had an art tatum piano album, i got it for 50 cents and got some japanese cds and left,,they pirates know whats going on mostly but in china if u dig deep u can find anything, as for dvds i can get some criterion discs and foreign flicks a plenty, like the new movie from brazil, city of god, which rocks, watching transformers now
i live in shenzhen china, right next to hong kong, and musical diversity on the mainland is pretty bland, every1 listens to the same songs and they are all really awful pop songs withe a musak backing track, the american songs they love is the titanic song and richard marx, not fucking kidding, people sing right here waiting all the time, people look at me wierd when i tell them titanic sucks or i listen to metal, the whole chinese music scene is extremly soft and lacks any power, but that could because dont want anything too political, i have heard some chinese metal bands, they need a bit more work heh, but for the most part its all garbage...in other words if it isnt a love song dont bother
all my students do in their spare time is play CS and this online rpg from taiwan called stone age, and i frequent the net bars around here and every1 plays cs and online rpgs, i saw one machine with q3 and asked people if they wanted to play, they are all stuck on CS, in stone age, all they want to do is level up and they read all these strategy guides,,,the net cafes are smoky places where people have huge CS lan parties basicially, people chat on QQicq and play CS/stone age,,, other people might play weiqi or other chess games online,,,,,, it would take a long time to make china move on to the next thing like 1942 , i was in the main electronics district in shenzhen last weekend and there was a LAN party of CS with a big screen television so every1 could watch, there was a decent size crowd,,,this is off topic, but in all arcades here,,most of them are 90%+ filled with king of fighters machines,,,my personal hell, but thats what practically all my students like CS and KOF
heh, sould learn some augmented or dim 7th cords, better yet augmented 6th then do some funky cirle 5ths progressions mixed in, if u are into tonality, whihc im not, hehe
and here is my experience from the net cafes in various cities
1.chengdu- cool city, anyway i was at sichuan university for a bit doing music sutff and i went to the net area on campus....they used a free net service on some ancient computer and it was too slow to even do anything so i went off campus, so after walking past a bunch of poultry getting slaughtered i waled up a pink staircase to a net cafe, this one was using an adsl line and was 2 yuan(cheap) an hour, people there icq like mad and do a lot of chatting, people wre always there and i couldnt access certain sites, but it was no biggie, then i went to some ore net cafes aroudn the university, very nice cafes, people always there and bunch of cool people
xian-slow as hell not even goin to describe
guillin- i was at the normal university and they net cafe near it laughed at me, i got a bit upset, they were assholes, so i went next door, the connection was pretty fast, and again, icq all over the place and some wierd games goin on
bejing-expensive thats all i have to say
if any1 goes to china in the future, i suggest u stay in chengdu, its one nice place, sichuan is great , nice people, not as dirty as bejing, and cheap taxi
im a composer and when i do my notation i use sibelius and with it comes a program called scorch, it displays the score on your screen and u press play and it plays the tune while it follows the notes, its pretty cool, but this format they use is not my fav thing, i mean trying to enter a wagner score or lizst would prolly take forever to do,but it does have promise, just the format should be changed unless entering the public domain in sibelius is against the law, whhich is prolly not true...jsut htey better use somthing other what they have or the collection wont grow fast enough or have small pieces and nothing huge like a berloz symphony or mahler(symphony 6 plz?)
