As a perl scripter, I should probably keep up on perl development. A few `features' I hope I find in Perl 6 are:
Threading - MP3::Napster, a popular module written by Lincoln Stein requires a threaded perl interpreter; I happen to use this module for my project (spam, spam [grin]).
More perl ports - I would like to see perl ported to PalmOS; some nodes on PerlMonks reveal that there is a lot of interest in this; Although I sometimes wish they would take a look at the projects on handhelds.org.
Dusk begins to realize that he is ranting....
Anyway, I am sure that I will be pleased with the results; Saint Larry will not let us down:)
Well, just to continue this stupid conversion...
the use of 'or' vs '||' is a matter of preference when dealing with perl. If not dealing with perl, then you're not a _true_ geek (grin).
I think that Linux is an excellent platform for game programmers and gamers alike. The reason that programmers avoid Linux, is that they think that the Linux community pressures programmers to license their code under the GPL, or a similar license. However, As Loki Games have proven; Linux is an excellent platform for game development, and money CAN be made.
drscholl has had both a filter and block feature implemented in Opennap for quite a while; `block' being a more recent addition, and devnull has a perl script that takes care of users sharing undesirable material for months. Maybe Napster should pay attention to it's open-source counterpart more frequently..
Now, I ask this question with total honesty and openness: Besides the "hey that was a cool accomplishment" factor, what is the point of having linux on a handheld?
Uhm. stability, open-source software, and the fact that you can boast "Hey, I'm running Linux on my handheld and you're not.";)
Mhmm. Your insolence is amusing/irritating. Maybe you should get a clue and bow before St. Larry, you heretic.

Are you sure? you may want to check up on that.
